ALEXANDER SKARSGÅRD

Stellan’s eldest began acting as a boy. However, his life beyond lm sets was com- pletelyordinary.Hegrewupinaworking-class area of Stockholm, where he ran around and played football in the streets. At the age of 19 hedecidedthathedidn’twanttoactandjoined the Swedish Marines. He also studied English and was interested in architecture. However, he came to realise that he still wanted to be in front of the camera. He gained a role in Zool- ander, then we saw him in a Lady Gaga video, then in the seriesTrue Blood, where he played the character of a Viking vampire, and wom- en around the world were won over! He has been proclaimed Sweden’s sexiest man ve times. However, this young man wasn’t con- tent with the fact that he was only seen as a pretty face. He chose roles in which he could also show his talent, and went on to shine in The Diary of a Teenage Girl and the TV series Big Little Lies. Alongside acting, he’s also in- volved in humanitarian work, has no problem stripping o, speaks English and French uent- ly, adores football, while popularity isn’t an im- portant thing for this guy, who’s a true gentle- man... What more can you want from a man?

nature of Stellan Skarsgård, the famous actor, great humanist and father of eight. The very same Stellan Skarsgård who we watched in thelmsofLarsvonTrier, inthemusicalMama Mia, in Thor, Chernobyl etc. The Swede who easily conquered Hollywood, and whose inter- views are more interesting than short stories. And why do I mention Krakow when we’re talking about a Swede? Because my surprise when I saw that star was similar to the reactions of lm lovers when you explain tothemwhosefatherStellanis. That’sbecause his sons are also stars, real Hollywood ones: Al- exander, Gustav and Bill. And this is the story of them, the four Vikings who conquered the world via the big screen. So, let’s start from the beginning.

Tim snova: Aleksander, Stelan i Gustav Dream team: Alexander, Stellan and Gustaf

Ra- dio sam to mnogo godina.

When he told his father at the age of 16 that he’d selected his calling and would leave school, he was met with understand- ing. He soon became a theatre actor, then appeared in several lms in Sweden, which was followed by an award at the Berlin Film Festival... In the 1988 lm adaptation of Milan Kundera’s novel The Unbearable Lightness of Being, he performed alongside Daniel Day-Lewis in his rst serious Holly- wood production. From there everything became part of the history of cinematog- raphy: The Hunt for Red October, Good Will Hunting, Pirates of the Caribbean, Go- ya’s Ghosts etc. And then came Melancholia and the surname Skarsgård appeared twice when the credits rolled out. This was the rst time that Stellan acted alongside his son Alexan- der. It was the beginning of the Skarsgårds lm domination. It was also then that his pri- vate life rst came under the spotlight and it was revealed that Stellan has eight chil- dren – six from his rst marriage and two from his second, seven sons and one daugh- ter. He bought an apartment in Stockholm, where the children moved when they left their parents’ home after turning 18. They had to pay the bills themselves and man- age on their own. That didn’t create distance between them, on the contrary. Once every three months they have dinner and every- one attends. “If someone were to watch us from the sidelines while we ate dinner, it would seem to him that we are arguing, but it is only through discussion that one can reach a compromise. Swedenisthehomeofcompromiseandfree- dom of speech must exist,”father Stellan ex- plained.

GUSTAF SKARSGÅRD

Acting is extremely dicult, but when you already have a famous father and broth- er and you want to get into acting, the road is decidedly thorny.“As a 17-year-old and a pre- tentious candidate at the acting school, it was easy for me to discredit Alex as a supercially inated doll. And I did that for many years. A long time was needed for me to gain respect as an actor myself,”said Gustaf candidly in one interview. And so he played the character of Floki in the series Vikings and presented him- self perfectly to the whole world. He has acted in the theatre, in plays by Shakespeare, Chek- hov etc. When he appears on screen, all oth- er actors fall into the background. This is sup- ported by the fact that one of his biggest fans is the unsurpassed Daniel Day-Lewis.

BILL SKARSGÅRD

Bill is perhaps a new name for the rest of the world, but this guy’s already been acting for 20 years. He’s a big star in Sweden, and he doesn’t have a problem with the fact that he’s the third Skarsgård brother to conquer Hol- lywood. “I do my thing and they do theirs,” said Bill. And if you’re not sure if you’ve seen him act, we’ll help you out. He was the terri- fying Pennywise in the hit adaptation of Ste- phen King’s IT. We also watched him in Atomic Blonde, while in Deadpool 2 he makes a cam- eo appearance as himself, so he’s already a big- ger star than all other Skarsgårds.
