I n its anniversary year, the Beldocs fes- tival of documentary films will use sev- eral programmes to screen the greatest achievements of today’s documentaries. Thus, audiences at the 10 th Beldocs will have a chance to see more than 80 films, and the festival will host important directors and creators, whose works present some of the most hidden corners of the world and re- veal to viewers the intimate confessions of their heroes. In the ten years of its existence, Bel- docs has managed to position itself on the world map of documentary film festivals, as evidenced by the fact that several crea- tions will have their international premieres right here in Belgrade, such as the film Lust for Sight by Manuel von Stürler, who won a handful of prizes for his previous film Win- ter Nomad, including the prize for the best European documentary of 2012, and the Ira- nian film Tomorrowland, by Sarvnaz Alam- beigi. Both of these films will compete for awards, together with the winners of fes- tival, such as Sundance, Tribeca and Ber- lin festivals.
Apartfromthecompetitiveprogramme, there are numerous other exciting films to look out for. The “Beldocs Special” pro- gramme will host one of the most impor- tant philosophers of our time, Bernard Henri Levy, who will lead a panel discussion along- side famous local director Goran Marković. The programme of biographical doc- umentaries has become a firm favourite at this festival, as it reveals all those little known facts about great and celebrated individu- als. For example, in the biographical doc- umentary about Ingrid Bergman the audi- ence will discover more about her intimate life from her private archives, while in anoth- er film the actor Helmut Berger talks about the glory days of Italian cinema. “Feelgood Movies”is another programme of films that will leave the audience“feeling better”, while the most attention will certainly be attracted by the biographical film about Cicciolina, the once famous adult film actress who later be- came even more interesting as a politician. However, there is no doubt that the biggest hit will certainly be One More Time with Feeling by Andrew Dominik, the Sa-
