Mi vam ovom prilikom predstavljamo najpoznatiji, najstariji i najmoderniji venecijanski most, a vi pod starim kamenim lukovima ispišite neku svoju priču
KALATRAVIN MOST (PONTE DELLA CONSTITUZIONE) Venecijanci vole svoje mostove, sve osim jednog! Most je projektovao poznati španski arhitekta Santja- go Kalatrava, po kome se most najčešće i zove. CALATRAVA BRIDGE (PONTE DELLA CONSTITUZIONE) Venetians love their bridges - all but one of them! They’re not particularly pleased with the most modern glass brid- ge. Constitution Bridge opened in 2008 as the fourth brid- ge over the Grand Canal in the vicinity of the railway station. Many found it difficult to accept its contemporary design in a city that is dominated by architecture dating back several centuries. The bridge was designed by famous Spanish ar- chitect Santiago Calatrava, after whom the bridge is most commonly called. Made of steel and glass, it is all stepped and is said to have cost 10 million euros, which contributed further to the general criticism. It is a fact that this bridge serves a purpose and connects important places, but it is al- so a fact that it does not fit into the landscape of old Venice. Citizens have even complained that they often “twist their ankles” due to the large number of steps, but there is no do- ubt that Constitution Bridge has earned its place in the ci- ty’s tourist offering, precisely because it is totally different from the others.
Each of the 435 bridges of this city has its own story woven from legend and truth ... Here we present to you the most famous, oldest and most modern Venetian bridges, and you can compose your own story under the old stone arches

S ir Isaac Newton noticed long ago that we humans build too many walls and not enough bridges. He could say the same today and that, unfortunately, wouldn’t be far from the truth. But mankind couldn’t be criticised in this way when it comes to Venice, a city where people are connected over the sea by more than 400 bridges. The great sci- entist would be satisfied by this city, just as our own Ivo Andrić would be satisfied, who said that of all the things created and built by humankind, nothing is better or worthier than bridges. And not only do they not serve an- ything clandestine or evil, as Andrić also noted, on the contrary, bridges in Venice bridges ensure that you remain in love for- ever – that is of course if you believe the gondoliers, who advise you that in accord- ance with Venetian tradition, you should kiss under every arch. This means you will end up not seeing much of the city, because you’ll be kissing all day! Joking aside, as unbelievable as it looks today, Venice once had no bridges at all! Inhabitants crossed between each of its 121 islands by boat, but with the flourishing of the city, tech- nological developments and a commer- cial boom, bridges became a necessity. Thus we come to today and the fascinat- ing figure of 435 bridges, including 300 made of stone, 60-odd iron bridges and the rest made of wood. Each bridge has its own story, and each one is fascinating and mysterious. Here we present to you the three bridges you must visit if you fly with Air Serbia to Venice this June, but there’s no doubt your legs will carry you over many, many more.
