O gledalo duše svakog grada su pijace, me- sto susreta seoskog i urbanog, boja i miri- sa, raznih starosnih i socijalnih kategorija, gastronomskih, kulturnih i drugih navika. Šarene tezge, pune upravo stiglog povrća, voća i cve- ća, slike su Beograda koje niko ne bi smeo da propusti. Nekrunisana kraljica beogradskih pijaca je Kale- nićeva, rođena početkom prošlog veka, na šta ukazuje kaldrma kojom je popločana. Najprometnija je i najživ- lja, smatra se i najgospodskijom od svih desetak se- stara, te i najatraktivnijom za turiste. The uncrowned queen of Belgrade’s market is Kalenićeva, born at the beginning of the last century, as can be seen by its paved cobblestones. The busiest and liveliest open market, it is also considered the poshest among ten sister markets and the most attractive for tourists to visit. The plot of land where goods from the surrounding suburbs were first presented in 1926 be- longed to a certain Vlajko Kalenić, a cobbler and benefactor. Vla-
