I n just a few years, Nemanja Mate Đorđević’s unusual artis- tic expression has resulted in significant success, so much so that today he is spoken of as one of the most prominent Ser- bian artists of the younger generation. France welcomed him with open arms, and the response to his art has also been excel- lent in Macedonia. Mate does not hide the fact that the Osten Prize he won at the Osten Biennial of Drawing in Skopje at the end of 2016 came as a great surprise to him. - Awards shouldn’t be taken for granted. They highlight some- thing, but they shouldn’t be relied on, says Mate, who gained great satisfaction when he was shortlisted for the Fonda Antoine Marin award two years ago.
EXHIBITIONS IN PARIS
Two years after becoming the laureate of the French Acad- emy of Arts, this native Belgrader also received an offer to study in residence for a year at this prestigious institution. He took ad- vantage of this opportunity and decided to make Paris his per- manent place of residence. This city today provides him with great inspiration.
