THREE QUESTIONS FOR CAPTAIN MILAN MALOVIĆ Why is it good to be a pilot? - The pilot’s calling is a profession that will never lose its significance, attractiveness and glamour. As a pilot, you work in the most technologically advanced and dynamic environment currently known to civilisation. And, most im- portantly, you have the privilege of doing a job that you lo- ve. Speaking figuratively, you have “an office with a mi- llion-dollar view”. Travelling the world, you are essentia- lly transporting people from one place to another, but you are also travelling yourself, which enables you to explore places about which you’ve always dreamt. Socialising and networking with people from different cultural backgrou- nds is always refreshing, and daily communication with the crew maintains a sense of togetherness and connection. What’s the most beautiful place you’ve visited to date? - Thanks to the job, I’ve had opportunities to visit many European and world capitals. However, in my opini- on, Rome really is the world’s most beautiful city, with its history dating back thousands of years, ancient buildings, open-air museums and famous streets. It is given a spe- cial charm by the people who live there, with their specific mentality. When you’ve visited it once, you’ll always wish to return. White kinds of memories do you have of your first flight? - The first flight in my life, my first solo flight, my first flight to a new destination, my first flight in the role of a co-pilot or captain – those are flights that I’ll never forget. I had the good fortune to fly for the first time in my life as a seven-year-old boy, at the aero club in the city where I was born. It is difficult to find the words to describe that feeling of freedom, peace and inner fulfilment. I knew what job I wanted to do in life immediately. I succeed in realising my dream of becoming a pilot, which today ensures I’m a ha- ppy and satisfied person.
