I experienced board - ing a ship in Helsingør, a place that prides itself on be- ing home to Hamlet’s castle. I’d barely managed to eat a traditional Smørrebrød open sandwich covered with a pile of prawns before I was already in Helsingborg, a city in western Sweden. It is quite similar to Denmark there, though a more perceptive eye would notice an increased percentage of Swedes walking around... Copenhagen The Danish capital is its own story. Don’t act like the shallow-minded author of these lines and set aside less than seven days for this pearl of the north. Theme park Camp Adventure and amusement park Tivoli Gardens, a top zoo, the liberated hippie zone of Christiania, muse - ums and factories of Tuborg and Carlsberg, the museum Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, an irresistible coast and the bridge with its tunnel to Sweden, colourful facades and city “take and leave” bicycles and electric scooters, fun in all ways and on all sides. The residents of Copenhagen appear satisfied, relaxed and fulfilled. I will redirect this travelogue towards my experience with the most famous Danish lady (who is nonetheless quite cold and looks a lot like a Danubian carp). She’s called the Little Mermaid. My hosts let me choose: did I want to see the famous sculp- ture of the Little Mermaid, a symbol of Andersen’s crea - tive work, Copenhagen and the whole of Denmark, or to visit a lavish carnival that was then taking place just across the street from where we were. I’m sorry, Little Mermaid, but I had to cross the street...
Kopenhagen Glavni grad Danske je priča za sebe. Nemojte po- stupiti kao plitkoumni autor ovih redova i odvojiti za taj biser severa manje od sedam dana. Zabavni parko- vi Zemlja avanture i Tivoli , vrhunski zoološki vrt, slo- bodna hipi-zona Kristijanija, muzeji i fabrike Tuborg i Karlsberg, Riplijev Verovali ili ne muzej, neodoljiva obala i most sa tunelom do Švedske, raznobojne fasa- de i gradski „uzmi pa ostavi“ bicikli i električni troti- neti, zabava na sve načine i na sve strane. Stanovnici Kopenhagena izgledaju zadovoljno, opušteno i ispu- njeno. Skrećem ovoj putopis na moje iskustvo sa naj- poznatijom Dankinjom (koja je doduše prilično hlad- njikava i dobrim delom liči na dunavskog šarana). Zove se Mala Sirena. Domaćini su mi dali da biram: želim li da vidim čuvenu skulpturu Male Sirene, simbol Ander- senovog stvaralaštva, Kopenhagena i čitave Danske, ili da posetim raskalašni karneval koji se odvijao baš preko puta mesta na kojem smo se tog trenutka na- lazili. Oprosti, Mala Sireno, al’ ja sam morao preko... Možda i sada ima nešto trulo u državi Danskoj. Ipak, ja to nisam uspeo da ugledam, a imam foto-aparat od 24 megapiksela sa šestostrukim uvećanjem
