G de god da se krene s te tačke, Kvarnerska rivijera pruža samo lepotu. Ceo za- liv zaštićen je planinskim vencima Velebita, Gorskog kotara i Učke, pa je klima blaga tokom cele go- dine. Zbog takvog položaja, mesta na kopnu, ali i ostrva Krk, Cres, Rab i Lošinj bili su cilj mnogim osvajačima. Svi su ostavljali tragove, a do danas je opstalo 276 loka- liteta koji su zaštićeni spomenici kulture. Zbog lepote Krk su još stari Rimljani nazvali Zlatnim ostrvom, čije se čari najbolje upoznaju šetnjom kroz šarmantne primorske gradiće – Krk, Omišalj, Malinska, Vrbnik ili Baška. Prelepa arhitektura i uske ulice popločane belim kame- nim pločama nasleđe su Mletačke republike. Brojne cr- kve, Katedrala uznesenja u Krku, rimska kupatila, bazi- lika, mletački dvorac u kojem se održavaju koncerti na otvorenom, samo su delić blaga ovog ostrva. Iako je raj za one koji vole mir i opuštanje, ljubitelji za- bave će uzbuđenje pronaći u Malinskoj, gradiću boga- tog noćnog života. Bilo da se luduje na nekom partiju ili uživa u večeri u restoranu uz more, obavezna je čaša vi- na vrbnička žlahtina, ukusa i arome koji se pamte. Uz kupanje, usamljene plaže Krka i okolnih ostrva iza- zov su za ronioce, jedriličare, bicikliste i pešake. Za sva- koga će se pronaći neka lepota. Za potpuni doživljaj Kvarnera pređite Krčkim mostom do Rijeke i Opatijske rivijere, koja čuva duh starih vre- mena. Uz negovane parkove prolazi 12 kilometara duga staza za šetnju, čuvena Lungomare.

The entire bay is protected by the mountain ranges of Mount Velebit, Gorski Kotar and Učka, ensuring the climate is mild throughout the year. Due to the strategic positioning of this area, the mainland – but also the islands of Krk, Cres, Rab and Lošinj – were targetted by many conquerors. All of them left their mark, with 276 sites surviving to this day as protected cultural monuments. The beauty of the island of Krk prompted the ancient Romans to dub it the Golden Island, the charms of which are best experienced by walking through the mesmerising coastal towns of Krk, Omišalj, Malinska, Vrb- nik or Baška. Exquisitely beautiful architecture and narrow streets paved with white stone slabs remain as a sign of the heritage of the Venetian republic. Old towns with their narrow streets of white stone, numerous church- es, the Cathedral of the Assumption in the town of Krk, Roman baths, a basilica, the Venetian Castle that hosts open-air concerts – these rep- resent just part of the treasures of this island. Despite being a paradise for lovers of tranquillity and relaxation, lovers of nights out on the town will nd excitement in Malinska, a town with rich nightlife. Whether go- ing crazy at a party or enjoying dinner at a seaside restaurant, it is ob- ligatory to try a glass of Vrbnička žlahtina wine, which has an unforget- table avour and aroma. Apart from swimming, the isolated beaches of Krk and the surrounding islands are also a welcome challenge for divers, sailors, cyclists and hikers. There some beauty will be found for every- one. For the complete experience of Kvarner, cross the Krk Bridge to Ri- jeka and the Opatija Riviera, which preserves the spirit of ancient times. Extending alongside landscaped parks for a distance of 12 kilometres is the famous promenade known as Lungomare.
