T oday it’s showbiz, with an an- nual turnover of 60 million eu- ros and pro ts of six million. The ensemble numbers 60 dancers from 14 countries, and all dancers are the same height – precisely 175 centimetres. Long-legged, slender, in their early 20s, with blistering smiles and shimmering eyes. There are two daily performances, each lasting an hour and a half and starting at 9pm and 11pm. Each show presents the audience with a total of 1,000 fantastic cos- tumes. The dancers change costumes 10 to 15 times during a single performance. The have just 90 seconds to change! The cheapest ticket is priced at 110 eu- ros and implies only the cost of watching the show. Those paying more get cham- pagne and dinner, with a choice of four menus: Belle Époque, Toulouse-Lautrec, Mistinguett (one of the stars dancers of the Belle Époque era) and Vegetarian. And it all started back in 1889, which was a signi cant year for Paris. The city cele- brated the centenary of the bourgeois rev- olution, while the newly completed Ei el Tower welcomed the start of the World Exhi- bition. Two audacious impresarie launched a dance show that would make its premiere performance on 6 th October. Based on the model of another popular Montmartre ven- ue that emerged out of an old mill, this cab- aret would also be named after and dec- orated on its exterior by a red windmill.

Svakoga dana igraju se dve predstave u trajanju od sat i po, sa početkom u 21 i 23 h. U svakoj predstavi predstave nam ukupno 1.000 fantastičnih kostima.
