Prvo smo imali školski televizor, posle i u našoj kući. Rado sam gledao neke TV emisije i
I t was at the age of three that, without stage fright or mistakes, he made his premiere per- formance reciting a song in front of an audi- ence. Tihomir Stanić, now 58, received a round of applause and his rst pocket money. From that day to this he has known only success, awards, ap- plause... He believes in his own wishes, and most often makes them come true, and he can already anticipate how he will, in his retirement, solve su- doku puzzles while listening to mariachi in Mexico. You learnt early on that work pays o? - At the age of three, at a village performance, I recited the song “Hero’s Mother”. My father sug- gested that an older girl continue reciting the song if I got confused and stopped. I cried then, because I knew the song and could recite it by heart. I got pocket money for doing that. In the lm Falsier I played Anđelko, a character inspired by my father, Nedeljko Stanić. With the fee for that role, I treated my mother to a summer holiday. Your parents’ meeting could be the start of a novel or a lm?

- My father was a village teacher. My mother worked at a village shop where everyone gathered. My par- ents met through my father’s small ad in a newspaper explaining that he’d like to meet a kindred spirit, which he headlined“Good after- noon, sadness”. My father remind- ed mother of that title during tough times for their marriage. What did you inherit from them? - My father was interesting
and had a fondness for art. My child- hood was rough in every sense. We moved often because of father’s sins at work, because he gave some people false testimonies about primary school gradu- ations, which led to him twice being jailed. He believed that this diploma enabled people to more easily secure their existence and that every- one deserved to have that testimony. Mother was heroic in supporting us all when our father was in- carcerated. Everything started going better for me when I realised that I had a solid character like her, and I inherited all my good qualities from her. I’ve liked myself a lot more since then. I had the sup- port of my parents in everything. What awakened your imagination during your childhood? - I read a lot from an early age. We lived in a school, so the school library was available to me. I was always curious to meet the world without im- posing on my environment. First we had a school TV, then later we also had one in our house. I happi- ly watched some TV shows and lms, which caused me to be late for evening performances. I arrived at them via a dark forest and I was scared of go- ing through it. Who taught you to act? - I took the entrance exam for acting studies at the Academy in Novi Sad, in the class of Professor Dejan Mijač, who taught lm and theatre directing

mojom majkom. Igrali ste i anđele i đavole, šta vam bolje leži? – Anđeli moraju da budu lepši od mene. Đavola glumim bolje. Igrao sam Mefista u Faustu .
