Uprkos pričama da će se od početka godine ulaz u Panteon naplaćivati, zvaničnici Rima istakli su da će posećivanje drevnog spomenika ipak ostati besplatno za posetioce. Alberto Bonizoli, italijanski ministar kulture, odbacio je odluku svog prethodnika po kojoj je ulaz u ovu rimsku atrakciju trebalo da se naplaćuje dva evra. Inače, Panteon, koji je pre 1.900 godina podignut kao paganski hram, godišnje poseti više od sedam miliona ljudi. Slavan je po svojoj kupoli s okruglim otvorom na vrhu kroz koji u unutrašnjost prodiru sunčevi zraci.

Rome Entry to the Pantheon to remain free
Despite rumours that entry to the Pantheon would be charged as of the beginning of this year, officials of the City of Rome have said that entrance to this ancient monument will remain free to visitors. Italian Minister of Culture Alberto Bonizoli rejected his predecessor’s decision to set an entrance fee for admission to this Roman attraction at a price two euros. The Pantheon, which was constructed 1,900 years ago as a pagan temple, attracts over seven million visitors annually. It is famous for its dome with a circular opening at the top through which the sun’s rays penetrate into the interior.

Berlin Berlin Wall pieces for sale
This year marks the 30 th anniversary of the start of the demolition of the Berlin Wall, which provided a clear symbol of the end of the Cold War and the coming together of East and West. History lovers will be thrilled to hear that parts of the Berlin Wall will be up for sale at auction in the UK on 12 th March. One larger part consists of four pieces and is expected to fetch a price of between 11,000 and 13,000 euros, while the smaller pieces will likely to be sold for more than 5,000 euros each. These remains of the wall until recently formed part of a memorial park in Berlin, set in a monument to the 258 people who lost their lives attempting to cross the wall.
