N a svet dolaze sasvim crni, a svake godine života postaju sve svetliji. Od sive ždrebadi se lagano pretvaraju u snežnobe- le lepotane tek kada napune šest godina. To je i uzrast ka- da se smatra da su fizički stasali, iako im obuka počinje ka- da napune tri godine. Ova danas veoma popularna rasa datira iz davne 1580, kada je lipica- ner nastao ukrštanjem slovenačkog kraškog, napolitanskog, španskog i arapskog konja. Ergela za uzgoj ove rase nalazila se u mestu Lipica, u Sloveniji, odakle ovi konji i vodi poreklo. Lipicaner je snažan, hrabar i vredan. Veoma je inteligentan, čisto bele dlake, elegantne građe i izu- zetno lepog hoda. Godinama su se lipicaneri razvijali i stasavali u izdr- žljive, brze i snažne konje, druželjubive i pogodne za dresuru i jahanje. Njihova lepota, gracioznost i dobrodušnost potisnuli su španske rase u plemićkim zapregama i školama jahanja, pa je tako lipicaner stigao i u Beč. Bečka škola jahanja najprestižnija je škola visoke dresure na sve- tu. U atraktivnim predstavama koriste se isključivo pastuvi lipicaneri. Ako ih volite i poštujete, oni će umeti da vam uzvrate istom merom. Inače, Lipicu ćete naći u opštini Sežana. Njena glavna znamenitost je, naravno, konjušnica Lipica , koju je osnovao austrijski nadvojvoda Karlo. Među očuvanim zgradama najautentičniji je deo starog dvorca, koji ima galeriju s više od 1.400 dela, uglavnom crteža i grafika. U bli- zini Lipice je nekoliko pećina, među kojima je najpoznatija oko 1.300 metara duga Vilenica, verovatno i najstarija turistička jama u svetu, jer se obilasci organizuju još od 1633. This very popular breed dates back to the 1580s, when the Lipizzaner was created by crossing local Slovenian Karst horses, Neapolitan, Spanish and Arabian horses. The stud farm that bred these horses was in the Slovenian village of Lipica, where these horses also originated. The Lipizzaner is strong, courageous and hardworking. Very intelligent, they have a pure white coat, elegant build and extremely graceful walk. Over the years they’ve developed and matured into durable, fast and powerful horses, gregarious and suitable for dressage and riding. Their beau- ty, grace and benevolence are a throwback to the Spanish breeds of noble car- riages and riding schools, which is why the Lipizzaner also arrived in Vienna. The Vienna Riding School is the most prestigious school of high dressage in the world. Lipizzaner stallions are used exclusively in their attractive performanc- es. If you love and respect them, they will return that to you in equal measure. You’ll find Lipica in the Municipality of Sežana. Its main attraction is, of course, the Lipizzaner stud farm, which was found- ed by Austrian Archduke Charles II. Among the village’s preserved buildings, the most authentic is part of an old castle that has a gallery with more than 1,400 works, mostly drawings and graphics. In the vicinity of Lipica are sever- al caves, the most famous of which is Vilenica Cave, which is around 1,300 me- tres long and is probably the oldest show cave in the world, with guided tours having been organised since 1633.
