trol his emotions. He lifts his face to the heavens, and shouts: “T hither cause thy mighty ones to come down , O J ehovah " (Joel 3 :11, R. V.). T he C onqueror C omes Instantly, shout answers shout. A trumpet sounds. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah roars out of Zion. The heavens and the earth shake (v. 16), The Hope of Israel and “the Desire of all nations” (Hag. 2 :7) rides down. And—hallelujah!— the saints of God are seen riding with Him (Rev. 19:7, 8, 14) ! But alas for the world of men that has trodden under foot the Son of God! For now “he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God” ! The Lamb, once so despised of men, now reigneth: K ing of K ings , and L ord of L ords .” GLORY TO GOD [Continued from page 419] death, even the death of the cross” (Phil. 2 :8). He undid the disobedience of Adam, with all its dire results. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.” G lory in the B eliever Redeemed, reconciled, restored to right relationship with God, the Lord’s people experience the fact that the glory of God, the Shekinah Presence, is now transferred from the risen, exalted Saviour, by His outpoured Holy Spirit, to each believer’s heart. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” The glory typified in the tabernacle, manifested in the incarnation of the Son, is now scattered over the face of the earth in “many sons” indwelt by His presence. As He works in us, to will and work His good pleasure, men see Christ in us, “to the praise of the glory of his grace.” The Holy Spirit in us, guiding and prompting our prayer life, brings new glory to God by His special acts of intervention on behalf of His children in answer to their petitions. This is a very precious aspect of prayer. And thus we read : “Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13) ; “Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” (Psa. 50:15). G lory in the F uture God’s glory in the future centers in Jesus, crucified, risen, and glorified for us. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, . . . And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:10, 11). And every man’s hope of shar ing in that glory rests with himself—in his attitude toward the Saviour of Bethlehem and Calvary. “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels” (Lk. 9:26). What a panorama of glory! What a glorious ribband of revelation, a program wrought out in the person of the Son whose birth we celebrate, a revelation stretching from an eternity past to—what? Unlike the rainbow with a sup posed pot of gold for those who follow its quest, it leads to the sure treasure of “eternal glory.” Listen! “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Pet. 5:10, 11). Yet we are not to sit down and wait for that glory to be. W,e are to have its light shining upon our present pil grim pathway. Like the angels of old, we who know our God and Saviour are to sound abroad His praises. “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me.”

Mussolini says: “In spite of talk of peace, the whole world is arming as never before” ; and he has again and again predicted an Armageddon within the present decade. General Ludendorff, the German military leader, in his book; The Coming War, foresees another world war in the immediate future, due to the plotting of “super natural forces.” He says it will “destroy Europe.” Walter Duranty, American news correspondent in Russia, is quoted as saying: “There are in the world today four or five powder magazines, and lots of people are playing around with matches. Japan and Germany are the two most dangerous nations in the world. If you will examine their imports—nickel, nitrate, and other things used in munitions—you will see what I mean. I can’t see how an explosion can long be postponed.” Bishop White of Honan, China, speaking recently in Canada, said: “In the East they no longer speak of the possibility of war. They only wonder when it will begin. . . . The situation is grave, with momentous events in the air. War clouds are hanging over the world. . . . Every thing is in readiness for the spark which will mean a ter rific upheaval.” H. G. Wells moans: It’s practically all over now. There will be hell to pay east of the Suez. The Red flag will advance to the Rhine, maybe to the Atlantic. Down will go Europe in one awful smash 1 An archy will seize the doomed United States. Mankind will take to caves. Alack! Alas! Poor Mr. Wells! Just yesterday he was writing the marvelous story of man’s upward march from a seat on the limb of a tree to a throne in the palace of a god. Now, all is “reversion to type” ! Behold, the tail groweth again ! Whoever dreamed that H. G. Wells would become so soon such a firm believer in “Biblical prophetical nonsense” as to affirm: " Mankind will take to caves” —as to believe that “the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low; . . . And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth” (Isa. 2 :17; 19) ! But, cheer up, Brother Wells! Keep up your study. It will also be revealed to you that not all the children of men “will take to the caves” in that day. When you have finished with Isaiah, turn to I Thessalonians and read 4:16-18: “The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the a ir : and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.” But, let us return to the vision: T he M obilization of D eath “Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen.” In stantly, what a marvelous, what a stupendous, what a be wildering sight greeted the eyes of the seer of God! From the four corners of the earth marshaled antichris- tian hordes whose “wickedness is great” (Joel 3 :13)— Satan’s last mobilization o f death. T he V alley of D ecision Behold them! “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision” ! “Valley of Decision” ! What a significant name! There, at last, the sovereignty of this earth is to be once for all decided. There the sovereignty of the uni verse is to be forever determined. The soul of the prophet is overwhelmed with the magnitude of the scene —with the immensity of the issue. He can no longer con
