Memory Work Since this is the month when we are re membering the coming of the Lord Jesus to this earth, we will memorize verses that speak of that wondrous event, and will continue our Know Your Bible Club verses in the January issue of the K ing ’ s B u sin ess . Let us learn Isaiah 9 :6 ; Luke 2:10; and 2 Corinthians 9:15. Or, if it seems better to memorize a longer passage, Luke 2 :8-14 would be good. For the Notebooks Write out the answers to the following questions in your notebooks, giving the reference where the answer is found: 1. In which city was the Lord Jesus born? 2. Who was king at the time of Jesus’ birth ? 3. How did the Wise Men find the place where the Lord Jesus was? 4. When the Wise Men came, did they find the Lord Jesus in the manger or in a house? 5. What gifts did the Wise Men present to the Lord Jesus? 6. Why did Mary and Joseph travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem? 7. What sign did the angel of the Lord tell the shepherds would guide them in finding the Babe of Bethlehem? 8. What message did the heavenly host bring ? 9. What two things did the shepherds do when they returned from the manger ? 10. What Old Testament prophet fore told the birthplace of the Lord Jesus? How to Join the K. Y. B. word “unspeakable” is used to show us that the Gift, the Lord Jesus, is so won derful that words cannot fully explain this Gift. This verse is what we are saying at Christmas time. Let us repeat it softly to gether, from our very hearts. Our last letter is another 5'. What shall we let it stand for this time? It is the first letter of “saved,” and it is a wonderful thing to know one is saved, but I am thinking of another word: satisfied. A member of the K.Y.B. Club wrote me a lovely letter not long ago, and in it she said this: “I am satisfied with Jesus.” Yes, dear boys and girls, Jesus truly satisfies and meets every need and longing in our lives. You know what it means to be sat isfied, do you not? It means that one’s heart is filled with rest and contentment, and this is what Jesus is ready to do for every one who will receive Him as Saviour. So, dear boys and girls, let us look long at the star bearing His name—J-E-S-U-S. May you remember Him at this Christmas season, and if any of you who read this page have not as yet received God’s Gift, the Lord Jesus, won’t you do so now at this blessed season? “But as many as re ceived him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). —M. S. H. soul-winner at this season when we are remembering His birthday? This would be a wonderful gift.” “I’ll try, Uncle John,” replied Tommy. “I know two boys who never even go to Sunday-school.” “Perhaps you could give some gift, too, in Jesus’ name, to some who do not have as many things as you have,” continued Uncle John, as he watched the interest and eagerness on Tommy’s face. “I’ll do it, Uncle John, I really will,” said Tommy as he rushed to the fire with his long list of Christmas wishes. And that night, before Tommy went to sleep, a brand new list lay bn his table. And such a long list it was, too! The names of all the poor boys and girls in his room at school were written there. Opposite each was a gift listed; and some of the gifts were his own best games and toys. And at the bottom of the page, written in large letters, were these words: “FOR HIS BIRTHDAY.” —M. S. H. Tommy’ s Christmas List [Continued from page 431]

This is the season for stars—gold ones, silver ones, and tinseled ones. It was a star, you know, that told the Wise Men that the Lord Jesus was born. And at this Christmas season we are again thinking of stars. Let us draw a large five-pointed star. You may draw it on a piece of paper and color it, or make it on the blackboard, or perhaps you would like to cut one out of heavy cardboard. Now let us choose a word of five letters, so that there will be a letter for each point of the star. We will choose the name of the Babe born in B eth leh em ’s manger so long ago, J-E-S-U-S. In Matthew 1:21 we read: “And thou*shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sifts.” It was a wonderful star of God’s providing that the Wise Men saw, and in their quest for a king, they came at last to Bethlehem where Jesus had been born. And, in Revel ation 22:16, Jesus Himself is spoken of as “the bright and morning star,” so I am sure we have chosen the right letters for the five points of our star. If you have received Him as your Saviour, you are in possession of gifts more precious and costly than ever hung on any Christmas tree. As we place the letters of His name upon the star, we will consider some of our riches in Him, which we have because He came into the world on that first Christmas Day. We will put J on the first point. I stands for joy. Only those who know the Lord Jesus as Saviour have real joy in their hearts at this blessed season. Read 1 Peter 1:8: “Yet believing [in Jesus] ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” E is our second letter. It stands for ever lasting life, which all receive who accept the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Let us repeat together John 3:16, which tells us about this wonderful gift. We will place 5 on the third point of the star. .S' is the first letter in Saviour. Jesus came into the world to be a Saviour for sinners. Let us read Luke 2:11: “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” For you He came; have you received Him? If He is your Saviour, then you also have salvation and are saved, all of which are included in our 5 letter. U is our next letter. We shall let it stand for Unspeakable Gift. God so loved that He gave His best Gift—Jesus, In 2 Corinthians 9:15, we read: “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” The
