K aye Dr. Kaye is the author of the New Ana lytical Bible and the Student’s Bible Guide and Helps, and some of the explanatory notes and analytical charts from his study Bible appear in The Teacher’s Guide. An other feature is the treatment of the Bible text. The Authorized Version is used, but the better renderings are placed in brackets in the text where they belong. Cross- references to other portions of the Word are also closely associated with the text. Dr. Gaebelein’s latest book may well be regarded as a counterpart of his Conflict of the Ages. The book is in four main divisions. The author begins by raising the question, “Can man know the future?” Then, in answer, he makes plain that it is only by revelation that we can know the nature of coming events. Dr. Gaebelein shows that, from the very beginning of the Bible, prophecy has its place. Before any great coming judgment, God, through His chosen servant in that particular age, made announcement concerning that which was to be. Part Two deals with the future of Isreal, showing—from the promises made to Abraham and from subsequent promises— that God has a definite plan for His people, Isreal. This section of the book closes with a careful examination of the British- Israel theory. Dr. Gaebelein handles this question in a convincing manner, pointing out the utter fallacy of such a .theory. In Part Three, the author deals quite fully with the times of the Gentiles, espe cially with reference to the book of Daniel. In the closing section of the book, the prospects of the church and of Christen dom are set forth. The whole theme is dealt with in the strong Biblical way which has character ized Dr. Gaebelein’s writings for these many years. Every student of God’s Word and of prophecy will benefit greatly through the study of World Prospects. We most heartily commend this book to our readers. 190 pages. Our Hope Pub. Co. Cloth.
