O n the streets, at work, in airports, on Instagram pro- files and cover pages, do you see women dressed in sportswear? No, they are not heading out to exercise. This is athleisure – the new fashion phenomenon. The transition of sportswear fashion into everyday clothing was also announced at Milan Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2017. Fashion greats like Jill Sander and Max Mare have includ- ed bomber jackets and sweaters in their new collections, while Donatella Versace has included jogging bottoms in his femi- nine story. They have dubbed this the future of fashion. It start- ed harmlessly enough. Sports footwear crept into convention- al wardrobes, Armani unveiled a luxury version of the bomber jacket at the 2016 haute couture show in Paris, while sports brands introduced fashion lines in collaboration with renowned designers, celebrities from the music world sailed into creators’ waters and a new trend was born - athleisure. The style was intended for the millennium generation, which prefers a healthy lifestyle and considered design with high aes- thetic criteria based on comfort and functionality, but it was embraced by fashion consumers of all ages, contrary to all ex- pectations. The change in thinking was taken advantage of by fashion houses, which began offering an incredibly stylish look of sports models, though in that they were not alone. Instagram and other social networks opened the door to new occupations, fashion bloggers, influencers and celebrities, giving them power that we could not even imagine ten years ago – to influence the creation of fashion trends. Thus the cen- tre of power shifted from fashion houses and athleisure was al- so embraced by trendsetters from Instagram. N a ulici, poslu, aerodromu, Instagram profi- lima i naslovnim stranama viđate doterane žene u sportskoj garderobi?
