Filip je najskuplji fudbaler u istoriji Hamburgera Filip is the most expensive footballer in the history of Hamburger SV

I came to Germany when I was 22 years old and I must say that everything was different compared to what I’d had the chance to see previously, even though I’d spent two years in Groningen (Nether- lands) after leaving Serbia. The country is organised to the max when it comes to everything, from the look of the streets, via culture and modern technology, all the way to living standards and security. Ger- mans are disciplined, honest, precise, cul- tured. With every step – both in Hamburg and previously in Stuttgart – you feel se- curity, stability. They are diligent and do a lot of work, which is one of the main characteristics of this nation. That’s also the case in football. I really enjoy every moment I spend here...

was very difficult at the start in Stuttgart: new city, club, language, culture, stadi- um; a stronger and tougher league, mov- ing home, gruelling negotiations etc., but, then again, a wonderful city. It is known as the city of Mercedes, though it is also the home of the Porsche facto- ry. I have, of course, visited the Mercedes Museum and I recommend that every- one sees it. My impressions are phenom- enal, especially given that I have been a big fan of cars from an early age. It’s an extraordinary experience to tour such remarkableness and see, over eight floors, how Mercedes has devel- oped over the years. Stuttgart has many attractions, cultural monuments and museums... Some of the highlights are the Opera House, Ludwigsburg Palace, the zoo and botanical gardens, and al- so Stuttgart Theatre, which also stages musicals like those on Broadway. That’s all nice. It is interesting that the first ev- er concrete TV tower was built precisely in Stuttgart in 1950.

However, my friends were not very in- terested in that. They were most interest- ed in football matches in Stuttgart and res- taurants, and some were interested in the nightlife, because they are young after all. There are even places that only play our lo- cal music. As for the “cuisine”, Stuttgart is fa- mous for its excellent wines and beer, but I like Italian food and restaurants the most.

AND IN HAMBURG LIKE BEING AT HOME

Hamburg is, for a start, a much bigger city than Stuttgart, the second largest in Germany, immediately after Berlin. In my opinion, it is certainly one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, with a beautiful cultural heritage. It wins you over at first glance; it’s really amazing. Life there is more ex- pensive than in Stuttgart, while Porsches can be seen on almost every street cor- ner. A relaxed atmosphere reigns in the city. You are surrounded by hotels, restau- rants and shopping centres. There is a port

IT WAS TOUGH FOR ME IN STUTTGART

I have been living away from Serbia for five years, and this is already the third year that I’ve been in Germany. Frankly, it
