Borders do not exist in this world – neither real nor imagined ones. Thus, this mini world will be extended this year to include a replica of the United Kingdom, while in 2019 it will include Africa. They say, with pyramids Sve partije nemačkog parlamenta mogu da kreiraju na jednom kvadratnom metru svoju idealnu državu All parties of the German Parliament can create a one- square-metre model of their vision of an ideal country
Harc je jedan od najstarijih pejzaža. Mnoge priče i detalji iz ove celine bile su inspiracija za dalje modeliranje The Harz is one of the oldest landscapes. The many stories and details which can be found in this section were groundbreaking for modelling
Sve je počelo kada je Frederik Braun pozvao svog brata Gerita i rekao mu: „Izgradićemo najduži model železnice na svetu“ It all began when Frederic Braun called his brother Gerrit and said: „We are going to build the largest model railway in the world“
SMALL CITY, BIG NUMBERS
Today, covering an area of more than 13,000 square metres, they have created a real world in miniature and, with a million visitors annually, Hamburg’s biggest tour- ist attraction. Thus the Braun brothers can only smile in the face of anyone who told them it was a silly idea at the beginning. And a smile is indeed the essence of this wondrously fun place, which is enjoyed equally by both small and big children. You are awaited on one side by a rep- lica of the idyllic snow-covered landscapes of Switzerland and Austria, while when you take a look to the other side you will notice that a fire has broken out in the city and fire engines are arriving. Once the adren- alin subsides, you will see another type of fire burning in the woods – where a cou- ple is making love. Just a few moments later, there is some fuss in the city again – criminals are being chased by police ve- hicles with rotating lights and sirens, and when all of that calms down... imagine that you are on a cruise ship sailing across the North Sea. Life as it really is bombards you from all sides. There are forlorn groups at- tending funerals, somewhere people are dying, somewhere there are celebrations and fun times at concerts and fairs; there are fire-eaters, church services, quiet family afternoons in restaurants... And if you press any of the 200 buttons intended for visi- tors, you will find yourself right where you

want to be. How about a chocolate factory? A day in this world lasts 15 minutes, and in no time at all you are in Los Ange- les, Scandinavia or Italy, driving through the Grand Canyon, strolling the streets of Rome or sunbathing in Amalfi, descend- ing from the tallest mountain, six metres tall, or in the centre of the earth. Some- where above, if you look closely, you will spot a UFO. As you don’t believe your eyes when it comes to everything you see there, you should consider – perhaps you didn’t see it after all? A special story is the airport, where everything – from hangars to terminals – has been created so faithfully that it can- not be more faithful. Six years and 3.5 mil- lion euros were required in order to – in May 2011, on an area of 150 square me- tres – open the smallest commercial air- port in the world, with a fleet of 40 aircraft. They roll down the runway and then take- off, and as they disappear into the clouds you are already captivated, forever in love with this place and dreaming of your re- turn, because there is certainly some de- tail that you missed...
