VINSKA BAJKA O KARAĐORĐEVIĆIMA WINE FAIRY TALE OF THE KARAĐORĐEVIĆS
O d ovolike istorije se ožedni, pa se tura završa- va u vinskom podrumu, u jednom od laguma koji nadvisuju Karađorđevu ulicu. Ovde po- setilac stiče utisak o Beogradu od srednjeg veka do vremena pre Drugog svetskog rata, kada se ra- znovrsna roba donosila rekom Savom, pa odatle, iz pri- staništa, liftom dizala do centra grada. Lifta više nema, ali se jasno vidi procep za njegovo „kućište“, zapravo platformu kojom se manipulisalo čekrkom. I o vinariji se ispreda bajka da je pripadala kraljev- skoj porodici Karađorđević. Vlasnik je zaista našao sta- ru burad, ali su se pretvorila u prah pre no što je uspeo da protumači čija su. Nauka se drži činjenica, ali utisak gostiju ne zavisi samo od njih. U priču je utkana i mašta prethodnih posetilaca, ali i onih koji su o podzemnim čudima Beograda samo slušali.
S o much history makes one thirsty, so this tour ends at the wine cellar, in one of the vaults dug out of the rock high above Karađorđevo Street. Here visitors get an impres- sion of Belgrade from the medieval period to the time prior to World War II, when various goods were brought via the River Sava and then lifted from the dock there to the city cen- tre using a lift. The lift is no more, but the space for its “housing” is still clearly visible. You can actually see the platform that was controlled by a winch. There is also a fairy tale connected to the winery, suggest- ing that it belonged to the Karađorđević royal family. The cur- rent owner really did find old barrels, but they turned to dust be- fore he could determine who they belonged to. Science sticks to facts, but the impression of guests is not entirely dependent on that. Interwoven within it are the pearls of the imaginations of previous visitors, but also those who have only ever heard about the underground wonders of Belgrade.
