bio je zauzet produciranjem, kompo- novanjem, aranžiranjem, remiksova- njem i generalno oblikovanjem svog muzičkog sveta – u klubovima, studi- jima, na sceni... A njihov muzički svet je najbolja fuzija svih raznolikih ele- menata klupske muzike koji se nepre- stano menja i razvija. Devetočlani sa- stav Jazzanova je na internacionalnoj turneji, a sa Polom Rendolfom stiže u Beograd 12. i 13. decembra, kao četvr- ti izvođač koncertnog serijala Musi- cology Barcaffe Sessions u klubu Bi- tefartcafe . Ako biste morali da iskoristi- te samo pet reči da biste opi- sali iskustvo Jazzanove uživo s Polom Rendolfom, koje bi to reči bile? – Dinamično, zabavno, duboko, Jazzanova je nastala 1995. Mo- žete li opisati evoluciju ovog ko- lektiva? – Jazzanova nije bend; to je proje- hipnotično, duševno. kat di-džejeva i muzičkih producena- ta. Najvažnija stvar je u tome što smo svi specijalizovani za svoje oblasti i svi imamo prostor za razvoj i donošenje odluka. Stoga je to manje demokratski proces, a više kombinacija pet pojedi- naca koji dele određeni ukus u muzi- ci. Taj ukus je postajao sve veći i širi tokom godina. Šta se promenilo kada ste poče- li da radite žive svirke?

Ever chang- ing and evolving, Jazzanova has been tour- ing internationally with a nine-piece-band. Now they are coming to Belgrade on 12 th and 13 th December, as the fourth perform- ers in the Musicology Barcaffè Sessions con- cert series at Belgrade’s Bitefartcafe club… If you had to use just five words to de- scribe the experience of Jazzanova live featuring Paul Randolph, what would they be? - Dynamic, party, deep, hypnotic, soulful. Jazzanova was formed in 1995. Could you describe the evolution of this col- lective? - Jazzanova is not a band; it’s a project of label owners, DJs and music producers. The most significant thing is that everyone specialises in their own field and everyone has the space to develop and make deci- sions in that field. Hence, it’s less of a dem- ocratic process and more like a combina- tion of five individuals who share a certain taste in music. That taste has grown bigger and wider throughout the years. Whatchangedwhenyoustartedwork- ing with a live band? - Seeing the audience reacting (and sing- ing along) to our songs when we perform live was really a new thing for us. In the studio we still create music in our own world, not necessarily thinking about performing live.
