T hose who will welcome the arriv- al of 1 st January in Paris are said to be lucky. Whether you’re there only then or in December, you will inevitably wonder how such a fairy- tale, elegant and noble city can be made even more beautiful. And yet it can, as it seems as though all of Paris’s charm has been reduced to an unrepeatable and in- credible beauty at this time of year - nev- er more than at this time is Paris worthi- er of the moniker City of Light. Already in November, the shops along Boulevard Haussmann create genuine min- iature artworks in their window displays, while spectacular festive lighting illumi- nates the Avenue des Champs-Élysées and the entire city is transformed into scenes from a wintry fairy tale. A starry sky, shim- mering wreaths, glittering rows of trees, countless colours, and all perfectly harmo- nised within more than 150 streets and 70 suburbs of Paris, from the Champs-Élysées, Boulevard Saint-Germain and Avenue Mon- taigne to Bercy Village… They have thought of everything. Dec- orations on the 400 trees of the Champs- Élysées are lit every evening at 6pm and turned off at 2am, don’t consume much electricity (11,000kw/h) and will remain there until 8th January. The Champs- Élysées is also the central spot for New Year’s Eve celebration this year – the par- ty starts on 31 st December at 9pm. Something quite different but still so Parisian is dinner on the Seine, on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower or in L’Opéra Res- taurant. The cost of dinner for two ranges from €260 to €350. And cabarets, of course, also open their doors. Do you fancy the glamour of Moulin Rouge; welcoming 2018 with the artists of Le Lido; the dancers of Le Crazy Horse or the can-can dancers of Le Paradis Latin? Be prepared to set aside between 170 and 1,000 euros. Despite all the stars and festive lan- terns, Notre-Dame Cathedral still stands
Clubbing, romantic dinners with a view, or just a glass of champagne in intimate company - all of this is a completely different experience in Paris
with dignity. If you’ve considered visit- ing it, now is the right time and the best time. From 1 st to 31 st December, sounds and lights inform visitors that this is the time for the story of the birth of Christ, while entrance is free for all those who want to hear it. This old European beauty has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. The lights will be turned off, but the city will still await you in 2018, in all of its enduring beauty. Bonne année!
rei, naravno, otvaraju svoja vrata. Da li ste za glamur Mulen ruža , doček 2018. uz umetnike iz Lida , plesače iz Krejzi horsa ili kan-kan Paradiz latina ? Budite spremni da izdvoji- te od 170 do 1.000 evra. Mimo svih zvezdica i lampiona dostojanstveno stoji katedrala No- trd Dam.
