POP-NAIVA VUKA VUČKOVIĆA POP-NAÏVE ART OF VUK VUČKOVIĆ GRADOVI U ŠARENOM MOZAIKU CITIES IN A COLOURFUL MOSAIC
S vaki obilazak grada poči- nje i završava se panora- mom. U taj najširi kadar grada stane zbir trgova, mostova, reka, crkvi, katedrala, spomenika, parkova. U taj kadar stane ono što čini grad posebnim i ono kako smo mi taj grad zapam- tili, prepešačili, osvojili. Upravo tako, u tom panoramskom pako- vanju, gradove slika Vuk Vučko- vić (31), slikar iz Pančeva. Do sada je, u okviru serije slika Gradovi , naslikao Beograd, Novi Sad, Nju- jork, Čikago, London. – Gradovi su tvorevine ljudi i lepi su onoliko koliko su stanov- nici tih gradova bili kreativni i sposobni da izgrade nešto novo i ostave trag. Ako se tako krene, gradovi su uzbudljivi kao i ljudi. Sa spoznajom postaju uzbudljivi- ji. Samo kad upoznamo neki grad, onda ga razumemo, poštujemo i
E very city tour starts and ends with panoramic views. In this broadest frame of the city fits the sum total of its squares, bridges, rivers, church- es, cathedrals, monuments and parks. In that frame fits everything which makes the city special and why we have remembered, wan- dered and conquered it. It is precisely through such a panoramic package that Vuk Vučk- ović (31), a painter from Pančevo, paints cit- ies. His Gradovi (Cities) series of paintings includes depictions of Belgrade, Novi Sad, New York, Chicago and London. - Cities are the creations of people and are as beautiful as the inhabitants who have built them and left their trace. If you see them in this way, cities are as exciting as people. With familiarity they become even more ex- citing. It is only when we get to know a city that we understand and respect it, and con- tinue to care for and nurture it. That’s why I promote them with my paintings – says Vučković, noting that cities are above states and nations.
