Have you always shared artistic inclinations wi- th your brother Milan, the director, who’s a year younger than you? - I played football and fought with boys on the streets. I loved to recite poetry and didn’t have any inclination for other arts. Milan sketched portraits excellently, learned the saxophone and sang in a choir. And he rst studied law, then changed his mind and graduated as a director. We studied in Belgrade and lived together as sub-ten- ants. We lost our father early. Our mother supported us in our profes- sional choices, as did our younger sister, Angelina, who’s a translator for English and works in our production company. Milan and I are ex- plosive characters and we argue seriously at least once per day, but we also work together seriously. We are both interested in projects that are like reminders of our past, something like Fellini’s lm Amar-
To nema veze s godinama.
cord. Milan makes decisions about our productions, because he’s excellent at composing a story, and I realise it. Do you have the sense that you’ve succeeded in life? - The fact that people recognise me onthestreetsandthat‘guest-workers’,es- pecially in Budva, want their picture tak- en with me 200 times a day, is not some- thing I rate as accolades for my ego. Even if I’d became a sailor, I would have given my all to do that the best I can. You’re known as a lover of wo- men, a sworn bachelor and irre- parable seducer... - As a young actor, I couldn’t show
o and make conquests in that way be- cause I hadn’t secured my own mate- rial existence. I always recited poetry well, and did my job in a high-quality way, and all of that leaves an impres- sion. Today I have some kind of biogra- phy and story. I love women... I also suf- fered a lot due to some of those that I loved, that hurt. Every woman was fa- tal for me. I believe that I’ll meet an important lady again. That has nothing to do with age. And how do you stand in the fight against time? - In the play Felix, I have the line: “You are exactly as old as you should be”. I don’t mourn my youth, nor would I return to those by- gone days, even though I love Arsen Dedić’s song Mladost [Youth]. Every year made life what it was to me. I live in the present moment to the best of my ability. I’m surrounded by beloved people who I’ve chosen; I love the families of my brother and sister. I do a job that I love. With me everything is transparent. I know that we will start shooting a series on 10th June, and I resolve everything else day by day. I am among those people who, apart from material ex- istence, have also secured available time for themselves. That’s very important to me. I once spent 18 days travelling from Budva to Bel- grade, because I spent time in many places and with dierent peo- ple in various locations. What have you yet to try? - I’ve tried a lot. I haven’t been to Hawaii and the Himalayas, be- cause I didn’t wish to. And if I had wished it, I’d also have been there. I love the sun and the sea, that’s my story. I sometimes go to Palić

Volim sunce, more, to je moja priča.
and have a fantastic time. Company is important. Why is it good to be Mima Karadžić?
- Because I’m in a good mood most of the time. I don’t have to set my alarm, because I wake up when I like. I hope I haven’t hurt an- yone – I even try to jump over anthills.
