BERLINSKA KROFNA U Berlinu se morate zasladiti tra- dicionalnim krofnama, to jest, ka- ko kažu, kolačem iz tiganja – berliner pfannkuchen . Klasična krofna sasto- ji se od dva slepljena dela testa ko- ji se prže u masti. Modernija verzi- ja berlinskih krofni prži se u jednom komadu i odmah posle prženja pu- ni džemom od maline, šljive ili kajsije ili bavarskim kremom od vanile. Da bi se u slast zagrizle, moraju biti po- sute šećerom, onim u prahu ili krista- lu. Tradicija pripreme krofni u Ber- linu seže u 15. vek, kada su ih pekari prodavali u kolicima po celom gra- du pržeći ih u tiganju iznad otvore- nog plamena. BERLINER DOUGHNUT In Berlin you must seek a sweet bite of the traditional doughnuts, or, as they say, the treat from a frying pan, “Berliner Pfannkuchen”. A classic doughnut made in Berlin consists of two fused pieces of dough fried in fat. The more modern ver- sion of Berliner doughnuts is fried in one piece and then immediately lled with of raspberry, plum or apricot jam, or Ba- varian vanilla cream. In order to bite in- to sweetness, they have to be sprinkled with icing or crystal sugar. The tradition of preparing doughnuts in Berlin dates back to the 15 th century, when bakers sold them from carts all over the city, fry- ing them in a frying pan over an open ame.

Initially held seasonally, tthat pro- gressed to once a month, and now lovers of good food and selected producers come together almost every week. Berlin is leading the way in this, so every Thurs- day the Markthalle Neon indoor market hall in this city holds a market for street specialities, which is the most visited location celebrating good food. There are small producers and food outlets oering specialities from all around the world. On the list of the most popular dishes are Vene- zuelan pancakes, Taiwanese sandwiches, Peruvian ce- viche, Asian noodles and American barbecue, and all these delicacies are harmonised with craft beers and aromatic lemonade.
