Ribe iz Crvenog mora prave mali morski vašar Fish in the Red sea are creating a veritable small sea bazaar
WHERE EVEN WINTERS ARE WARM The Red Sea’s multicoloured world There is always something going on around the reefs, where everything bustles with life and colour. There’s no doubt that the Little Mermaid happily spends time with her friends in this underwater world N estled between the waters of the Medi- terranean Sea and the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Desert and the Sinai Peninsula, the African and Asian continents, from Suez to the port of Halayeb, flows the Red Sea, the world’s warmest and saltiest sea. Throughout most of the year the water temperature reaches up to 30 degrees Celsius, while during the winter months it doesn’t fall below 20 °C. One of the natural bays on the environmentally protected Giftun Island is Orange Bay. The island is surrounded by pristine coral reefs, with impressive marine species, colourful fish and ex- traordinary birds. It encompasses more than 196 va- rieties of solid coral reefs. Giftun has another possible stop for boat trips. It is a Paradise Island recommended for all lovers of silky sand, colourful coral reefs and exotic scenes that cre- ate a feeling of peace and tranquillity. Parasols made of dried palm leaves stretch along the beach, perfectly suit- ing the image of the island. The whole scene is free of classic commercial contents, but also noise and crowds. Day-trippers desiring a more active day can en- joy snorkelling. Coral islands are ideal for diving with a mask and flippers as they are rich in the charms of the exquisitely picturesque undersea world, which it is strictly forbidden to touch or take specimens from. The Red Sea abounds with a large number of fish that are unusual in appearance, have the most varied colours and patterns, creating a veritable small sea ba- zaar and an explosion of colours. There is always some- thing happening around the reefs, so there’s no doubt that the Little Mermaid happily spends time with her friends in this underwater world. Right next to Giftun Island is Napoleon Island, which has no beaches because it is surrounded by coral reefs. “Napoleon” is actually the name of a fish that is a native of the area and can reach weights of around 250 kilo- grams. This is the most popular place for snorkelling in Hurghada. There are also countless corals and oth- er fish: clownfish, barracuda, muraena eel etc. You can access these islands on tourist boats that operate year- round and swim even in winter, as the sea is still warm.
