Košarkašice Košarkašice Srbije dugo su žalile što su ostale bez zlata na EP 2019. čija je završnica bila u Beogradu. Ali još tada su skovale plan – 2021. će biti njihova godina. Armija Ma- rine Maljković u polufinalu EP je pobedila Belgiju, a na kra- ju i Francusku. Women’s national basketball team Serbia’s women’s basketball aces long lamented their fail- ure to win gold at the 2019 European Championship, the fi- nals of which were played in Belgrade. But they devised a plan even back then - 2021 would be their year! Marina Mal- jković’s army beat Belgium in the semi-final of the European Championship, then went on to defeat France in the final.

Paraolimpijci Ponovo su nas obradovali ove godine naši paraolimpij- ci, sportski i životni junaci i junakinje. Ispratili smo ih na Pa- raolimpijske igre u Tokiju, odakle su se vratli sa šest meda- lja – dve zlatne, tri srebrne i jednom bronzanom. Obe zlatne medalje osvojio je strelac Dragan Ristić. Srebrne medalje pripale su takođe strelcima, Zdravku Savanoviću i Laslu Šu- ranjiju, bacač čunjeva Željko Dimitrijević osvojio je srebrno odličje, dok je stonoteniserkama Borislavi Perić Ranković i Nadi Matić pripala bronzana medalja.

Paralympians

This year, we were once again delighted by our Paralympians, athletes and life heroes and heroines. We sent them off on their journey to the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, which they returned from with six medals - two golds, three silvers and a bronze. Both golds were won by sharp shooter Dragan Ristić. Silvers also went to marksmen Zdravko Savanović and Laslo Šuranji, while club thrower Željko Dimitrijević also won a silver medal and table tennis players Borislava Perić Ranković and Nada Matić secured the bronze.
