Srbiju će u konkurenciji 43 države 10. maja na drugoj polufinalnoj večeri 63. Evrosonga u Lisabonu sa pesmom Nova deca predstavljati grupa Balkanika Serbia will compete among 43 countries in the second semi-final evening of the 63 rd Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon on 10 th May, with the song “Nova deca” [New Kids], performed by the group “Balkanika”
Bili smo u Li- sabonu i Portu u Portugaliji, Izraelu, Holandiji... Pesmu prate spot i nekoliko interesantnih videa sa verzijama pesme. Najviše koncera- ta imaćemo u Srbiji do jeseni, a nekoliko u Rusiji u junu. Veliki kon- certi u inostranstvu čekaju nas u drugoj polovini 2018. Volim i mu- ziku čuvenih kompozitora Sen Sansa, Prokofjeva, Musorgskog i Debisija. U posebnim trenucima slušam Malera.
What are your plans for “Balkanika” for this year? - We are now promoting the song “New Kids” across the Balkans and around Europe, and a big team in Bel- grade is working on the Eurovision Song Contest. We were in Portugal, in Lisbon and Porto, Israel, the Netherlands... The song is accompanied by a video and there are some interesting videos with different versions of the song. We will have the most concerts in Serbia by the autumn, as well as several in Russia during June. We are awaited by major concerts abroad in the second half of 2018. You are a musician who hasn’t compromised much with light notes. Do you light notes still sometimes help you to conceive a tougher sound? - Throughout my life I’ve worked on slightly more complicated music that is rich with harmonies. My goal wasn’t for my songs to be a hit at any cost. I considered that I had to like a song first. But when it turns out that a song I like is also liked by the audience, then it’s a real hit. Included among such songs are“Princess”and“Blue Bird”. I felt a special satisfaction in writing the oratory of Con- stantine Magus, to commemorate the occasion of 1,300 years of Christianity. What other kinds of music do you enjoy listening to? - I haven’t had the time to listen to music in recent years. I receive the most important information via the radio, which broadcasts good music from around the world. This happens most often when I travel to Kosmaj, where I often escape to relax. Sometimes I stay there for just a few hours, then return with new energy to the bus- tling city. That’s the only way for a person to survive and remain normal. When I do manage to find the time, how- ever, I’m very happy to listen to ambient music, which is music that helps me rest and relax. I also like the music of famous composers Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, Mussorgsky and Debussy. In special moments I listen to Mahler.
