The artistic director reminds us that there are important Serbian artists who live beyond Ser- bia, such as Vladimir Veličković, who has resided for many years in Paris, and younger artists like Djordje Ozbolt in London and Ivana Bašić in New York. “Your country has suffered, these artists have gone, but they still have a strong connection to Belgrade and Serbia. The art world has many centres and Serbia is definitely one of them. The Belgrade art scene is international, strong and young, which is best seen through the artist-run galleries U10 and Remont, and in the artists’studios. Energy bubbles in the system”, says Kvaran. These works by some of the world’s most important contem- porary artists will be on display in the Galleries of the Belgrade Culture Centre, the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Scienc- es and Arts, the City of Belgrade Museum, U10 Gallery and Re- mont Gallery.
