R azgovor sa Dušanom Lajovićem vodili smo neposredno posle njegovog meča protiv Rodžera Federera na Vimbldonu. U sve- tinji belog sporta, na centralnom terenu u Ol Ingland klubu , Lajović je drugu godinu zare- dom igrao protiv najboljeg svih vremena. Oba pu- ta je izgubio. Ali to nikako nije shvatio kao lošu sreću, već kao iskustvo koje će mu poslužiti pred nastavak karijere. – Uh! Prvi meč je bio mnogo bolji jer sam ta- da i imao neku šansu, a sada... Baš nikakvu. Među- tim, stvarno je neverovatna stvar da se na Vimbldo- nu igra protiv Federera. I to na centralnom terenu. To iskustvo teško da mogu rečima da opišem – ka- zao je Lajović. Treći grend slem je sada već daleko iza nas, ta- ko da je Dušan već okrenuo nov list i spremno če- ka naredne izazove. Avgust je u rokovnicima naj- boljih tenisera i teniserki sveta rezervisan za put u Ameriku. – Igraću u Sinsinatiju, a onda i na Ju-Es openu . Svima koji lete za Njujork krajem avgusta i početkom septembra preporučio bih da obavezno posete Fle- šing Medouz i da nas bodre tamo. Imaće šta da vide. Kada već govorimo o Velikoj jabuci, gradu ko- ji nikada ne spava, Lajović se dotakao i mesta koja obavezno morate da posetite.
W e spoke with Dušan Lajović immediately after his match against Roger Federer at Wimbledon. In this temple of tennis, on Centre Court of the All England Club, Lajović played for the second consecutive year against the world’s best ever player. He lost both times. However, he didn’t see that as his misfortune, rath- er as an experience that will serve him in his continuing career. - Uh! The first match was much better, because then I’d had a chance, while now... No chance at all. However, playing against Federer at Wimbledon is really an incredible thing… and to do so on Centre Court. That experience is tough for me to describe with words,” said Lajović. The season’s third grand slam is now far behind us, and Dušan has already turned the page and is eagerly awaiting the next challenge. The planning schedules of the world’s best ten- nis players reserve August for a trip to the United States. - I’ll play in Cincinnati, and then in the U.S. Open. I would recommend everyone flying to New York in late August and ear- ly September to visit Flushing Meadows and cheer for us there. You’ll have something worth seeing. As we were already talking about the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps, Lajović mentioned other places that you must visit. - I adore the theatres and cinemas. I’m known for the fact that, during tournaments, I go to the cinema alone when my ob- ligations permit. I also adore plays, but it’s a bit silly to go to the theatre alone. But when you get to New York, head for Broad- way! That’s my first recommendation to everyone who goes.
