KAKO SE HLADI KABINA TOKOM LETA? HOW IS THE CABIN COOLED DURING SUMMER?

n order for any modern aircraft to be certified for transporting passengers, it must be fully equipped with an air conditioning system that will ensure adequate living conditions for the people onboard. While on the ground, when the engines are not on, the system for air conditioning is powered by a special small plane engine or a ground-based air conditioning unit that is connected to the plane. This system enables the passenger compartment to be cooled or heated, depending on the time of year. During a flight, in the air, due to the cold air in the higher layers of the atmosphere, this system uses hot air from the propulsion engine of the aircraft to heat the cabins during both summer and winter. When the engines are working, air of a high temperature is discharged from the compressor of the engine and carried to the air conditioning system. The air separated from the compressor section is highly pressurised and very hot, almost 300 degrees Celsius, but is completely clean and has had no contact with the engine exhaust fumes. From there, pipes carry it to the air conditioning system and it undergoes a process of cooling, and then the cooled air is channelled into the cabin. Pilots very often use the term Air Condition Pack, which is an acronym for the main functional part of the climate control system, in which the entire cycle of cooling hot air from the engines and precisely controlling the temperature of emitted air is carried out. Today’s planes typically have two AC Pack units.
