Radonjić je Zvezdin rekorder kao trener sa najviše pobeda i najviše utakmica na klupi Radonjić is Red Star’s record holder as a coach, with the most victories and the most games on the bench

handle himself well. It wasn’t long before he gained the sta- tus of a favourite of the army of fans who chanted his name like nobody before. - From the first day I knew where I was coming. Red Star is the biggest club in the region. Being its coach means always being under pressure. Days passed and I managed to over- come and beat that pressure. I was aware that I had to do a lot of things well. I am totally dedicated to my work and I’m always motivated to take on challenges, and I’ve improved a lot. We have fantastic results, but more goals ahead of us. Radonjić is Red Star’s record holder as a coach, with the most victories and the most games on the bench. If you ask him how, the answer is clear: - Despite all the trophies and success, I am always think- ing only about the next training session and am totally fo- cused on what awaits me. We always want to be better than our rivals and to give our all to extend the trophy collection.

BELGRADE IS HOME

One of those who play better under Radonjić’s command than anywhere else is Charles Jenkins, a wonderful 28-year- old American who also has a Serbian passport. In the summer of 2013 he was one of the first signings of the then new Red star coach, who departed his native Brooklyn and the NBA League and headed into the unknown. Now, four years later, everything is completely different. - This is my home. Red Star is much more than a club. For me it’s like a family, now more than ever especially. The team and coaches are much more than that. Everyone has some role to play, which is why I feel like I belong here and why I’m playing the best of my career. I am part of a great success sto- ry. The fans show a lot of emotion and I always want to show them how much I care with the way I fight - says Jenkins. Testifying to the extent to which he has made himself feel at home is his nickname Jenka, taken from the cult Serbian film “The Marathon Family”. That’s why he only managed to last a year without Red Star, before he returned last summer to write Red & White history. - I didn’t play in Milan. Everything was bad. Social net- works played a great role there. And even after bad games I still received many messages of support from Red Star fans, who encouraged me. That was an important part of the rea- son I returned, and as soon as Red Star called I didn’t hesitate.
