On seda i tiho počinje da čita.

B aryshnikov doesn’t like journal- ists. He is irritated by media at- tention, especially related to his role in the series Sex and the City. But he agreed to talk with us about his friend Brodsky and the show Brodsky/ Baryshnikov, which is dedicated to him; about his guest performance at the 14 th Belgrade Dance Festival, life, and dance. What kind of show is this? This is not a traditional theatre show, nor is it avant-garde. I’m on the stage alone, with no one else. We have a set design that was conceived by the won- derful artist Kristina Jurjan. She and the director found a glasshouse from some nice epoch – it might be the 19th cen- tury, it might be from some winter gar- den in Vienna, but it might be from a summer garden on the Riga coast. And not only there. That décor is somehow also reminiscent of the lifts in St. Peters- burg, as they used to be in the old build- ings. Or some shelter from the rain in a city park where orchestras are played. Joseph would have liked this décor – I know that for sure. As for the rest – I’m not sure. A man with a suitcase enters that abandoned glasshouse. He sits and quietly begins to read.
