Dvoranu krase i četiri velelepna globusa.

A cube within a cube decorated with cubes – this is how Stuttgart’s new Stadtbibliothek, which was opened to the public in 2011, could be described in brief. It is said to be the most beautiful library of the modern age, which delights not only book lovers, but also those who love architecture. The library’s interior is white, so it is only the books that introduce colourfulness to this tranquillity and all attention is rightly focused on them. It consists of a central library, mobile library and an e-library, which together hold more than half a million different titles and media on an area covering 18,000 square metres.
This library is also known as an architectural wonder or the “Black Diamond”, due to its facade of glass and black granite, on which the sun, water and sky are reflected in an unusual dance. The library holds, on its eight floors, the most valuable Danish works ever written, among the most important of which are original manuscripts of Danish writers Hans Christian Andersen and Karen Blixen. The library also constantly hosts exhibitions of renowned world artists, while its composition also includes a museum of photography. When you complete your tour, you can find respite in the building’s ground floor restaurant.
National Library It is housed in Hofburg Palace and the space was conceived in the Baroque style, while the architecture – with exposed figures and murals on the ceiling – conforms to the overarching concept striven for by Emperor Charles VI. A statue of him has been erected in the middle of the space, and this Baroque gem is home to more than 200,000 books, while the hall is adorned with four magnificent globes. Valuable works: The largest collection of manuscripts of Martin Luther from the period of the Reformation.
