li da medalje naprave od – mobilnih telefona. Naime, svaki mobilni tele- fon sadrži male količine zlata, srebra i bronze. To su karate, sportsko penjanje, surfova- nje, skejtbord, basket 3 x 3 i dve dis- cipline u biciklizmu – medison i fri- stajl BMX.

ble trac to use the roads without hindrance. Apart from trying to conserve their living space, the Japanese have also shown that they don’t waste anything. As such, they decided to make the medals out of mobile phones. Specically, every mobile phone uses small amounts of gold, silver and bronze. A campaign collected 80,000 phones and almost 5,000 medals will be made from the components of old mobile phones. Otherwise, given that the Japanese are a thou- sand light years ahead of the rest when it comes to technology, they decided to use robots to serve as translators from Japanese to all of the world’s languages and to assist people with disabilities, while, for example, during the Games taxis won’t have drivers and pas- sengers will use their smartphones to unlock doors and pay their fares. This idea proved so popular that as many as 1,500 people signed up for a test drive. Interestingly, competitors will ocially com- pete in 33 sports in Tokyo, with six sports set to make their debuts at next summer’s most massive and important sporting event in the world. They are karate, sport climbing, surf- ing, skateboarding, 3x3 basketball and two cycling disciplines - Madison relay races and BMX freestyle. There’s no doubt that a real spectacle awaits us – we can hardly wait for it to begin!
