What do your son and daughter do; are they musical? - Both of them are musical and hav- en’t chosen to pursue a career in music. My son Marko (29) graduated in produc- tion from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. My daughter Anđela (21) is a student of the de- partment for costume design at the Facul- ty of Applied Arts. I have wonderful kids! What brings joy to your life? - I am able to enjoy life; I can easily nd a little joy because I’m an optimist and a workaholic. With my wife Emilija, I found love and family happiness. Do you write songs during your trav- els? - I always carry a notebook and pen to write down some verse. This usually hap- pens on long-haul ights, to Australia for example. I also happily watch lms while aboard planes. If you didn’t live in Belgrade, where would you like to have a permanent address? - I’ve been in Belgrade for a long time; it’s somehow impossible for me not to live here. Australia has al- ways been of great interest to me, even though it’s a long way from here. Everything is okay there: good people, good climate, good stand- ard of living. Why is it good to be Momčilo Bajagić, aka Bajaga? - Because it isn’t bad at all!

cept South America. So, that could be my unfullled desire, and let it be realised. On one side of life you have a chance to use the motto “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll”, while on the other side you are a family man. How do you manage to balance those sides? - That “motto” is more of a charade than a reality. I didn’t plan anything spe- cic with that. My family is the founda- tion of everything and the main pillar. I’m lucky to have it. My kids are already big. I work and live as I think I should. You will celebrate your 60 th birth- day in 2020. What will be your wish? - For us all to be healthy and alive. I enjoy every day. When it comes to musical life, the Rolling Stones recently celebrated their 50 th anniversary, so they could be an example for me and my band to emulate. What relaxes you during your spare time? - I don’t have much of that, which is why I prefer to spend it travelling with

en nor Earth’ by director Miloš Radivoje- vić and screenwriter and director Duško Kovačević’s ‘The Professional’. What do you consider as your great- est professional success? - My greatest success is that, since be- coming a member of the rock band Riblja Čorba in 1978 to this day, I’ve been a mu- sician without a back-up profession. My band has had continuity since 1984 and has performed the most concerts among all ex-Yu bands. Is there anything you would change in your musical biography to date? - There were many nice and dicult moments, but I have no dilemma that I would repeat everything. I love music, it’s the thing I do best. That’s why I’ve never had a dilemma about whether I should deal in music, despite the many diculties implied by the life of an artist in Serbia. Do you plan to compose music for more lms? - This autumn is seeing the shooting of the lm “It’s Not Bad to Be Human”, di- rected by Duško Kovačević. I’ll put my name to about 80 per cent of the music in that lm. I’m simultaneously collabo- rating with actor and director Miloš Bik- ović, as I’m composing for his lm “Ho- tel Belgrade”. What other unfullled profession- al desires do you have? - I make music for my band, for lms, other musicians, commercials etc. Perhaps I can still come up with some new musi- cal idea. We play a lot for the Diaspora; we’ve been on stages in all continents ex-

my family, watching some lm, or I like to go to stadiums to watch the matches of the Serbian na- tional team or the Red Star club. Composing music for lms also relaxes me. Which tunes do you choose for respite? - I listen to jazz, classical, old

and new rock‘n’roll, young bands. I love lively instruments. Electron- ic music is the least interesting to me, but even in that genre a good thing is a good thing, and I love to hear it.
