NAJVEĆI NACIONALNI PARK SRBIJE I PRAVI MUZEJ U PRIRODI Nacionalni park Đerdap je najveći park Srbije i najveći evropski arheološki muzej u prirodi. Nazivaju ga i rečnim nacionalnim parkom, budući da značajan deo Đerdapa čini Dunav. Nalazi se u severoistočnoj Srbiji, na samoj granici s Rumunijom, a njego- ve lepote ostavljaju bez daha. Jedinstveni prirodni fenomen u Evropi je Đerdapska klisura Dunava, grandiozna, najduža i naj- veća klisura probojnica u Evropi. Čine je četiri manje klisure i tri kotline, koje se smenjuju u dužini od gotovo 100 kilometara. Zbog velike dužine i dubine, najraznovrsnijih oblika reljefa i za- klonjenih staništa sa specifičnom mikroklimom, Đerdapska kli- sura krije bogatstvo biljnih i životinjskih vrsta. Orah, jorgovan, srebrna lipa samo su neke od biljaka sačuvanih u ovoj lepo- ti. SERBIA’S LARGEST NATIONAL PARK AND A TRUE NATURAL MUSEUM Đerdap National Park is Serbia’s largest and Europe’s largest museum of ar- chaeology in nature. It is also known as a river national park, given that a signi cant part of Đerdap encompasses the River Danube. Located in cen- tral-eastern Serbia, immediately beside the border with Romania, its beau- ty is breathtaking. A unique natural phenomenon in Europe is represented by the Danube’s Đerdap Gorge, the Iron Gates, Europe’s grandest, long- est and largest river gorge. It is composed of four narrow gorges and three wide basins, which shift over a total length of almost 100 kilometres. Due to its great lengths and depths, most diverse relief forms and sheltered habitats with speci c microclimates, the Iron Gates Gorge hides a wealth of plant and animal species. Walnut, lilac and silver linden are among the
many plants preserved in this area of beauty. The national park is also a habitat to over 150 species of birds and mammals, while the Iron Gates Gorge has also proven, besides plants and other animals, to be a safe and comfortable haven for man. Testifying
