Bioskop Zvezda važi za jedan od kultnih bioskopa Beograd fil - ma , zajedno s bioskopima Balkan , Kozara , Jadran , Odeon … Međutim, dok su ostali ostavljeni da propadaju, Zvezdu su „okupirali“ entuzijasti – mladi režiseri, glumci, ljudi iz sveta fil- ma i umetnosti – i dodelili joj novu, uzbudljivu ulogu. Na krovu Nove Zvezde se održavaju projekcije nezavisnih, alternativ- nih, dokumentarnih, provokativnih, zabranjenih, ali i filmova koji su menjali svet – i to pod otvorenim nebom. Priča o oku- paciji starog bioskopa izazvala je dosta pažnje, pa je ta kultur- na akcija i sama postala tema dokumentarnih filmova. Zvezda (Star) cinema is among Belgrade Film’s most famous pic- ture houses, alongside cinemas like‘Balkan’,‘Kozara’,‘Jadran’,‘Ode- on’etc. However, while these others have been left to the ravages of time, Zvezda has been“occupied”by enthusiasts – young directors, actors and others from the world of lm and the arts - and provided with a new, exciting role. On the roof of‘Nova Zvezda’are screenings of independent, alternative, documentary, provocative and banned lms, but also lms that have changed the world – under an open sky. The story of the occupation of this old cinema has drawn a lot of attention, with this cultural activism itself becoming the subject of documentary lms.

Dvorana Kulturnog centra (DKC) otvorena je 1963. i važi za bio- skop sa najdužom tradicijom kontinuiranog aktivnog rada u Sr- biji. Ali DKC nije samo mesto gde se gledaju filmovi na veli- kom platnu već i važan činilac u kulturnom životu Beograda – u DKC-u je začet čuveni Festival autorskog filma, a danas je taj bioskop domaćin i suorganizator najznačajnijih filmskih festivala u zemlji kakvi su FEST, Slobodna zona, Beldocs… I kad nema fe- stivala, program je usmeren na dobre autorske, umetničke, an- gažovane filmove o kojima se priča na prestižnim festivalima, tematske cikluse, kao i gostovanja filmskih stvaralaca. U foajeu bioskopa je 2016. otvorena Filmska galerija – izložbeni prostor posvećen filmskom stvaralaštvu. The Movie Theatre of the Cultural Centre of Belgrade (aka DKC) was opened in 1963 and is known as the cinema with the longest tradi- tion of continuous operations in Serbia. However, DKC isn’t merely a place where lms are watched on a big screen, rather it is also an im- portant factor in the cultural life of Belgrade – it was at DKC that the famous Auteur Film Festival was launched, and today this cinema is a host and co-organiser of the most important lm festivals in the country, such as FEST, Free Zone, Beldocs etc. And when there are no festivals occurring, the programme is directed towards good au- thorial, art and engaged lms that are discussed at prestigious festi- vals, themed lm cycles, as well as guest appearances of lmmakers. The Film Gallery – an exhibition space dedicated to lm creations – opened in the foyer of this cinema in 2016.
