LONG LIVE THE DANUBE! ŽIVEO DUNAV!
„Dunave, Dunave, moje more, nad tobom najlepše sviću zore“ Ovako je Cune Gojković pe- vao o Dunavu, a i mnogi drugi su inspiraciju našli u ovoj, dru- goj po dužini i po vodi najboga- tijoj reci u Evropi. U stvari, kažu da o Dunavu ima više napisanih pesama nego što je u njemu ri- ba bilo. Oduvek je Dunav imao važnu međunarodnu ulogu, teče kroz deset zemalja i predstavlja jedan od najznačajnijih transport- nih koridora. Zato ima i svoj dan – 29. jun. Slavi ga čitava Evropa, a Dan Dunava obeležava se i u 27 gradova Srbije.

Thus sang Cune Gojkovic about the Danube, and many others apart from him have found inspiration in this river, which is Europe’s second longest river and its richest in terms of water. Actually, it is said that more songs have been written about the Danube than there are fish in it. The Danube has always played an important international role, as it flows through ten countries and represents one of the most important transport corridors. That’s why it also has its own day – 29 th June. It is cel- ebrate across the whole of Europe, while Danube Day is also celebrated in 27 Serbi- an towns and cities.
