VODIMO VAS U SLOVENIJU
WE’RE TAKING YOU TO SLOVENIA
Slovenia is one of Europe’s three most heavily forested coun- tries. Wherever you look, your eyes will rest on the meadows, gar- dens, parks and forests that cover over half of its territory. If your trav- els lead you to Lake Bled, beside an ancient castle, this crystal-clear lake with an island and church in the middle will lead you to think that you are in some kind of fairy tale. And while you’re there, where Donald Trump is said to have proposed to his wife Melania, be sure to try the famous cream pie. Slovenia also hides the Postojna Cave, which is one of the largest caves in Europe. Composed of wondrous natural trenches, galleries

and halls, it is home to the olm salamander, a mysterious creature of the underworld. The capital city of Ljubljana, named af- ter the word“ljubljena”[beloved], can be ex- plored on foot, by bicycle or from the river. Thanks to its flamboyant architecture, bridg- es, the murmuring on the banks of the Riv- er Ljubljanica, scents of wine and food, you

will consider that you’re somewhere beside the Mediterranean. On the rise above Ljubljana, which legend has it was founded by Jason and his Argonauts, looming over the old town is the former the cas- tle that was later the ruler’s residence. The oldest grape vine in the world, which is located in Maribor, still bears fruit today, and among the rare few who have tasted its wine are Japanese Emperor Akihito, former U.S. President Bill Clin- ton, sporting legend Michel Platini and actor Arnold Schwarzeneg- ger. There are many other reasons to acquaint yourself and fall in love with this unusual country, you just need to delve into explor- ing. And in Slovenia everything is close, just around an hour’s drive from Ljubljana.
