GRADE Iza zidova ovih zdanja su voleli, ljubili i patili neki od najvećih velikana srpske istorije... A u tome smo, ma šta da smo postigli u životu, svi isti Behind the walls of these buildings some of the greatest heroes of Serbian history loved, kissed and suffered... I t was in this building that Serbia’s only Nobel laureate wrote The Bridge on the Drina, The Days of the Consuls and Miss. It is less- er known that Andrić was caught in a love triangle a few times, and that he himself pulled strings to bring his lovers closer. He hired the husband of Milica Babić Jovanović, a renowned costume designer and his future wife, as his media attaché in Berlin, where he himself was serving as ambassador. Prior to that he found love with the wife of his best man, Gustav Krklec, while he went on the road. She - Persida Keršnijevič, denied that Ivo came by, but they were betrayed by her daughter. And even without a third person, Andrić formed strange relationships. Milica was preceded by paint- er Bela Pavlović.“Called to be an alibi for a flirt, Milica was the neme- sis of an ill-fated relationship,”says Stefanović.The last one,Vera Sto- jić, quiet and imperceptible, in a way close to his character, moved in with the Nobel laureate after Milica’s death. However, Andrić still did not even leave Bela, writing to her and claiming the she was his inspiration for the novel Miss. A most interesting story is told by Princess Ljubica’s Residence, which is much more impressive and big- ger than others. And how could it not be, given that it was built for the first lady of Serbia? That dragon lady, or murderer, because with murder she got rid of (at least) one of her rivals, was in love until her death with the rugged and shame- less Prince Miloš. until hos death. He feared her, so he rarely stepped foot in the most beautiful house of his time, which survived in the hierarchy of beauty even in later times, and which was built to keep Ljubica away from Miloš.
