Na trgu Taksim uskočite u crveni tramvaj Sledeceg dana možete krenuti od trga Taksim, pro- šetajte niz ulicu i vratite se čuvenim crvenim tram- vajem. Sa restorana na krovovima zgrada oko Tak- sima i Galata-kule pruža se čarobni pogled na grad. Možete i da se popnete na kulu da biste videli grad iz drugog ugla. Ovo je kula odakla je prvi „leteći“ Tur- čin Hazerfan Čelebi odleteo na drugu stranu. Drugi najstariji metro na svetu je nekoliko koraka daleko i još radi! Zovemo ga Tunel. Izgrađen je da bi putni- ci koji su stizali čuvenim Orijent ekpresom mogli da se popnu uz brdo do hotela Pera , u kojem su odse- dali. Nedaleko od trga Taksim nalaze se četvrti Ci- hangir i Cukurcuma, najbolje za kupovinu antikvite- ta ili samo za razgledanje izloga. Još jedan skriveni dragulj ovde je park Cihangir. Stepenice u parku su uobičajeno sastajalište meštana, a dodatni bonus je kvalitet hrane.

We call it “The Tunnel”, and it was built in order for the then passengers of the Orient Express to be able to easily ascend the hill to the Grand Hotel de Pera, where they would spend the night. Not far from Taksim Square are the neighbourhoods of Cihangir and Çukurcuma, which are the city’s best destinations for antique shopping or even just window shopping. Another hidden gem of this area is Cihangir Park. The stairs leading to the park represent a common spot for locals to hangout, while an additional bonus is provid- ed by the quality of the food on offer here.
