Considering that more than a year has passed since the pandemic became a real- ity - we all prefer to use our free time to turn to amaz- ing shots of the most luxurious Hollywood productions, in which top-notch costume designs sometimes shine brighter than the greatest stars of the big screen. Here are some of the films that you can always return to for a moment of fashion magic BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY‘S Truman Capote‘s complex work was brought to the screen as one of the most irresistible „lemonades“ of all time. Already in the first seconds, as Holly Golightly ambles down Fifth Avenue in a sculptural black dress, it becomes clear that elegance has gained a timeless in- terpretation through this film. This is also a pioneer- ing example of the role of costume designer being tak- en by a famous designer - in this case the unsurpassed Givenchy, who turned Audrey Hepburn into an icon of style. An anecdote from one of the first fittings for the film is recounted nostalgically in Hollywood, where Givenchy stressed authoritatively: ‚Audrey, it would be good if you started wearing the designated bra (in or- der for the neckline of the dress to fit better), to which she sadly replied: ‚But I‘m already wearing it!‘ CLUELESS Alicia Silverstone, in the role of a spoiled Princess from Beverly Hills, is responsible for the popularisation of haute couture among teenagers raised on the grunge of the 1990s. From her famous remark to a mugger try- ing to rob her while threatening her with a gun: „I can‘t lie on the ground in this. Već u prvoj sekundi, dok Holi Golajtli klizi niz Petu aveniju u skulpturalnoj crnoj haljini, postaje ja- sno da je elegancija kroz ovaj film dobila svoju van- vremensku interpretaciju. Ovo je takođe i pionirski primer da je ulogu kostimografa preuzeo poznati kre- ator – reč je o neprevaziđenom Živanšiju, koji je od Odri Hepbern napravio ikonu stila. U Holivudu se sa nostalgijom prepričava anegdota sa jednog od pr- vih fitinga za film, kada je Živanši autoritativno na- glasio: „Odri, valjalo bi da počnete da nosite postav- ljeni grudnjak“ (kako bi dekolte haljine bolje stajao), na šta je ona setno odgovorila: „Ali ja ga već nosim!“ CLUELESS Ališa Silverston u ulozi razmažene princeze sa Be- verli Hilsa zaslužna je za popularizaciju visoke mode među tinejdžerima zadojenim grandžom devedese- tih. Od čuvene replike razbojniku koji pokušava da je opljačka preteći pištoljem: „Ne mogu da legnem na ze- mlju u ovome. To je Alaja!“, pa do dražesno retro kom- pjuterskog softvera koji joj ujutru bira kombinacije za školu iz ormana sa pokretnom trakom. Sve u vezi sa ovom pop-hiperbolom života privilegovanih tinej- džera je danas, u doba TikToka , aktuelnije nego ikad.
