ĐAVO NOSI PRADU Nijedno nabrajanje filmova sa modnom temati- kom ne bi bilo kompletno bez ostvarenja u kome nas Meril Strip i En Hatavej uvode u brutalni svet luksu- znih modnih magazina na vrhuncu njihove popular- nosti. Činjenica da je zaplet baziran na sočnoj autobi- ografiji nekadašnje asistentkinje legendarne urednice američkog Voga Ane Vintur daje legitimitet svakoj ledenoj opasci koju Meril kao Miranda izgovara. A odeća? Oh, pa tu je sve baš kao iz Voga ! Od raskoš- nih Mirandinih kaputa do mladalačke interpretaci- je Šanela , koju Andrea (En) prikazuje kroz svoj mej- kover po meri modne štampe... PRET-A-PORTER Iako su se koplja lomila oko toga kako je čuveni Robert Altman video stanje u modnoj industriji tih devedesetih, kad je Pret-a-Porter snimljen, ovaj film sada (u jednoj po svemu drugačijoj eri) dolazi kao šarmantni podsetnik na ludost Pariza u jeku Nede- lje mode. Supermodeli, superstarovi i superbrendovi sreli su se u Altmanovom apsurdnom zapletu dajući nam jedinstveni presek svega uzvišenog i banalnog, zbog čega moda nikad ne prestaje da fascinira mili- one ljudi širom sveta. THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA No shortlist of fashion-themed films would be com- plete without the creation in which Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway introduce us to the brutal world of lux- ury fashion magazines at the peak of their popularity. The fact that the plot is based on the juicy autobiogra- phy of a former assistant to legendary American Vogue editor Anna Wintour gives legitimacy to every icy re- mark uttered by Meryl as Miranda. And the clothes? Oh, well everything is just like from Vogue! From Miranda‘s luxurious coats to the youthful interpretation of Chanel that Andrea (Anne) shows through her makeover, shift- ing the fashion press... READY TO WEAR Although there was speculation about the way the fa- mous Robert Altman saw the state of the fashion indus- try during the 1990s, when Ready To Wear was shot, this film now (in a different era entirely) comes as a charming reminder of the craziness of Paris at the height of fash- ion week. Super models, super stars and super brands encounter one another in Altman’s absurd plot - giving us a unique cross-section of everything with the banali- ty of long legs, which is why fashion never ceases to fas- cinate millions of people around the world.
