MOJ LJUBIMAC / MY PET
PETAR STRUGAR, ACTOR WHO LOVES TO RIDE I talk with horses every day
Horses understand love very well and reciprocate it, we grow together. I’ve learnt to listen to them and to know how they feel at every moment A s a boy in Budva, Petar Strugar (33) fell in love with the stage, but al- so with horses. He en- rolled in acting studies in his native Cetinje and graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Today he succeeds in creat- ing great roles that ensure he’s one of our most popular actors, while hanging out with his two horses at the Belgrade Hippodrome every day.
“My beloved pets are Kilon Ki- li (9), a Holsteiner breed horse, and Emilija (3), a Karađorđe’s military mare. We are currently based at the hippodrome as we look for space for an equestrian club, and then I will ac- quire more horses,” says Petar. He’s been living in Belgrade since 2009, when he started preparing for his film debut and the role of foot- baller Blagoje ‘Moša’ Marjanović in the film Montevideo, God Bless You,
and it was then that he also became a member of the equestrian club. “From a passion and a hobby, that love became my second job. I learned from the best from the begin- ning. Although I grew up by the sea, I still love to fish just as much as being with horses. The more love you give them, the more you get back. There are no lies there. I find that relation- ship wonderful, because everything between man and animal can be felt.”
