Sometimes sincere scientists are fooled by clever hoaxes. Men seek to measure the age of various items through “scientific” tests. Some are millions of years old, they declare. How can anyone state such a thing dogmatically? No one of us living to day was ever there. We can’t even tell how old an egg is. While going through a national park a guide spoke to the passengers on the bus. He ex plained, “Now those trees are some 6,006 years old.” One of'the tourists was duly impressd and asked, “How can you be so accurate?” The guide responded, “Well, when I came to work here six years ago, the fellow I replaced thought they were 6,000 years old. So, I’ve just added these extra years of my own time of serv ice.” Those who would hold to evolution, run head-long into some real problems. For instance, consider t h e giraff which has a long neck. One book I read said that when it all started, the neck was short, but that as the ani mal ate leaves and began stretching for its nourishment, over a period of millions of years, it came to be what it is now. Other animals similarly seek food, however, so why haven’t they developed in a like manner. Again, the chicken is just the same as it was 4,000 years ago. There have been no changes in its style or func tion. Let us not forget, however, that God gives us varieties. There are more than 100 varieties of butterflies as an example. How tragic that man always seems ready to swallow a lie rather than be lieving God. Mendel’s theory of evolu tion is by heredity. Darwin’s is based on natural selection. There is also a third which refers to environment. None of these agree with the others. Think about the owl and how it was created by the Lord with such soft 19
O ne of the clever lies of Satan, foisted upon our precious young people, is the evil teaching of evolu tion. Many have been turned away from God and the Bible as a result of these fanciful ideas of men. The philosophy of evolution also embodies the idea of doing what one pleases. “Let the boy or girl express himself for it’s always for something good,” they will say. Have you ever noticed that you don’t have to teach a child to do wrong? This comes naturally. I am reminded of the little poem, Said the professor to the protoplasm, “Between you and me there is a great big chasm. We mark extremes my friend, You’re the beginning and I am the end.” The protoplasm made reply As he winked his embryonic eye, “Well, when I look at you old man, I’m very sorry I began.” There is nothing in the hypotheses of evolution which can handle the sins and sorrows of life. There is no hope offered of eternal life. No evolutionist can tell you where gold or silver came from. They have no basic information relative to the origin of the trees. How about vines and what makes them climb ? Did they start from a flea, a fish, or something else ? In travels over most of the world, visiting many of the largest museums, I haven’t found anything yet taken out of the ground which would begin to prove one tiny shred of evidence that evolution is true. Some scientists have found a few bones, and then with wax, plaster of paris, and a great deal of imagination, they begin to fashion these weird monstrosities known as “missing links.” Don’t you believe it. It is false entirely.
