feathers. The reason is that it gets its' food at night. If it made a noise its food would hear it and run for cover. The alligator was made with a funny shape and a heavy hide. It moves very slowly. God created its covering so that nothing could hurt it. It is like the big elephant with a hide as thick as shoe leather. How marvelous God has done things in nature. How any one can see any reality or scientific accuracy to evolution is a mystery to me. It is all absurd! At 84, having seen all the philosophies the world has to offer, I am absolutely convinced that the Word of God is literally and absolutely true in every detail. Every thing the Lord says about you and me, our lives, our sin, our hope, is abso lutely true. Go to the Saviour and He will blot out your iniquities. Love your Bible, read and meditate in it so that you will be saturated with its truth. What a matchless blessing it will be to your own soul!

A good way to forget your troubles is to help others forget theirs. * * * EFFECTS OF WORRY One of the continuing problems which baffles medical science is the effect of worry upon one’s health. It’s a fact that when our hearts and minds are stayed upon Christ, we will not be filled with the fears and forebodings of this world. Recently an interesting experi ment in hypnosis was conducted among a group of soldiers. Having been placed in a trance, the men were instructed in the use of a hand grip to determine the strength they could exert. When conditioned by being told that they were very, very powerful, the average weight-pull expended on the hand grip was HO pounds. Amazingly, however, the amount dropped to an average of 69 pounds when the soldiers were told while hypnotized that they were all ill, weak, and anemic. Army doctors point to this experi ment to show how feelings can increase or decrease muscle output. Peptic ul cers, spastic colitis and angina pectoris often develop as a result of nervous tension. Dr. Walter Alvarez, the medi cal newspaper columnist, refers to the professor who told his graduating class in medicine, “Gentlemen, 85 per cent of your patients will get well in spite of what you doctors may seek to do for them.” When one becomes a partner with the Lord, he can live courageously. He is teamed up with the Almighty. Have we learned to relax and let God take over the night-shift? Dr. George W. Crane, psychiatrist and writer, has said, “People need to remember that God beats all our medical tranquilizers and sleeping pills. He is the only One who can give a person deeper relaxa tion without loading extra work on his kidneys, heart, and liver which other- wise must try to eliminate foreign chemicals producing a drugged sleep.” In the long ago the Psalmist wrote, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psa. 91:1). * * * The richest person is the one who is contented with what he has. 20
