SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS
Under the scope of activities that strive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide a maximum impact on the preservation of the environment, Air Serbia joined the user community of the SkyBreathe System in early October AIR SERBIA AS PART OF THE “SKYBREATHE” PROJECT

THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM, WHICH IS INTENDED to monitor and control fuel consumption, is designed to utili- se several different data sources as the basis to establish monitoring of implemented flight procedures, as well as analysing available data to draw conclusions and provide recommendations aimed at further optimising flight ope- rations and reducing carbon emissions. A special segment of this software is represented by a mobile application intended for national airline flight staff, which should be fully implemented in the early part of this year. Through the use of this mobile application, Air Serbia pilots will be provided with unique insight into every flight they‘ve performed. They‘ll be able to analyse each phase of a flight, compare divergences between planned and implemented procedures and monitor the success of implemented initiatives, while they will also have access to a wealth of information to assist them in pre- and post- flight activities, thus further contributing to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to its primary functions, this software is also used as a tool to support other operational sectors in connection with required analysis and data availability. Air Serbia has also been participating actively in the EU‘s ETS process since 2013, which entails the monitoring of carbon dioxide emissions on the territory of the European Union, while the Serbian national airline has also been participating in the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) since 2019. Serbia is one of 88 countries participating voluntarily in the CORSIA scheme, which will become mandatory for all countries as of 2027.
