cult is it? The most difficult aspect is the heels. In fact walking in them is the only problem. I practiced at ho- me and at some point I managed to master the balance. And then you decided to play Hamlet, even though you pre- viously had many objections to that character... - Because Hamlet was constantly spoken about, I developed an aver- sion to him. At one point I conside- red him a spoilt brat who was inca- pable of doing anything. In essence, when I familiarised myself with the play and when I uncovered some of the wonderful nuances that he posse- sses, I realised why this is great work and a great role, and that there is so much that links him to our reality. I was attracted primarily by the ideas of Aleksandar Popovski, his vision of the entire story and his desire for us to do it in a special way. And despite all the doubts I had in myself and the question of whether or not I can do that, Aca convinced me. Another idea that was interesting to me was that

Hamlet is someone who comes back and lives his anguish all over again, which is now people from generati- on to generation experience life and attempt to solve the same problem. Does that mean that Hamlet is still relevant today? Hamlet has been relevant for 400 years. He said “this time is out of jo- int”. Or “in the fatness of these pursy times, virtue itself of vice must par- don beg. Yea, curb and woo for leave to do him good.” The same can be said of these pursy times in which we live today. As children we were taught to be good, fair, gentle, that love is wonderful ... When we mature we see that not only us, but for cen- turies, all the people have been tau- ght wrongly, or that they lied abo- ut everything being great. When we enter into paying bills, into professi- onal relationships, into repaying lo- ans, we see that hell is all around us. Most of your colleagues claim that playing Shakespeare is the peak of one’s career. You do not share their opinion?
