WHERE BLACK HORSES DANCE IGRALI SE KONJI VRANI
Trenutak van vremena i van stvar- nosti. Na planini Vučija blizu Nove Va- roši, na nadmorskoj visini iznad 1.300 metara. Na prostranim pašnjacima, po prvom snegu koji samo što je pokrio ze- mlju, igraju se konji. Leprša griva, sijaju sapi na suncu, pršti smrznuta zemlja... I nigde na svetu taj prizor ne izgleda ta- ko moćno, tako veličanstveno i nestvar- no. Konji su vlasništvo Dragana Kneže- vića koji na planini sa braćom Petkom i Darkom živi i radi kao drvoseča. Moćne životinje pomažu mu u izvlačenju buko- vih trupaca iz šume. Ali uvek ima vre- mena za igru.
A moment beyond time and reality, on Vučija Mountain near Nova Varoš. At an al- titude exceeding 1,300 metres above sea-le- vel, on sprawling pastureland, with the first snowfall having just covered the ground, hor- ses play. With fluttering manes and breaths glistening in the sun, the frozen earth bur- sts... And there is nowhere else in the world where this scene looks quite so powerful, ma- gnificent and surreal. The horses are owned by Dragan Knežević who lives and works as a lumberjack on the mountain with his brot- hers Petko and Darko. These mighty animals help him drag beech logs from the forest. But there’s also time for playing.
