struction, it represented the most modern school bu- ilding for primary education in Serbia. It was built in 1905-1906 according to the project of Jelisaveta Na- čić, Serbia’s first female architect. - THE HOUSE OF MERCHANT MILORAD PA- VLOVIĆ (Kralja Petra Street 11-13) was constructed in 1884. It is presumed that the building’s author was architect Jovan Ilkić. According to its speci- fic characteristics, the house of Milorad Pavlović falls under the category of the small number of re- presentative town houses of Belgrade from the la- te 19 th century. - THE HOUSE OF MERCHANT CRVENČANIN (Kralja Petra Street 15) was erected in 1887, also ac- cording to a project of architect Jovan Ilkić. The bui- lding is a prominent representative of the academic style of the 19 th century and one of famous Belgra- der Ilkić’s most significant achievements. - THE GOODS WAREHOUSE (Kralja Petra Street 16) is the first modern Belgrade department store and the most significant Serbian achievement of the Art Nouveau style. Built in 1907 according to the project of engineer Viktor Azriel, it was the first commercial building in Belgrade to have several interconnected and open floors, with the entire interior observable from the galleries. - THE URBAN TOWN HOUSES OF KNEZ MI- HAILOVA STREET (corner of Kralja Petra Street and Knez Mihailova 46-48-50) represent a rarely preser- ved example of a unique block of connected buildings that was characteristic of the architecture and urba- nism of Belgrade during the 1870s. Built simulta- neously over the course of 1869 and 1870, they we- re among the first buildings to be erected in the then newly designed street, according to Emilijan Josimo- vić’s 1867 Regulatory Plan. - THE BUILDING OF MERCHANT STAMENKO- VIĆ (Kralja Petra Street 41) was constructed in 1907 according to the project of architects Andre Stevano- vić and Nikola Nestorović. It belongs to the group of residential buildings that were characteristic of Bel- grade until World War I and incorporated a fusion of academic conception and Art Nouveau decoration. - THE BUILDING OF THE AERO CLUB (corner of Kralja Petra Street 36 and Uzun Mirkova 4) was built between 1934 and 1935 for the purposes of the national aviation institution of the then King- dom of Yugoslavia. Implemented according to the project of architect Vojin Simeonović, it was conce- ived as a monumental corner building and archite- cturally moulded to reflect the then contemporary European Art Deco style. - THE HOUSE OF MIHAJLO ĐURIĆ (corner of Kralja Petra Street and Gospodar Jevremova 13) was constructed around 1910 according to a project of ar- chitect Jovan Novaković. It represents a significant attempt to create a Serbian national style of archite- cture at the beginning of the 20 th century.
